Hello everybody! MIA for a few days here. It's snowing on and off but unfortunately as it was already damp it's not sticking. I am not happy about this as I love the snow
Anyway, Tuesday went to GP and basically got my own way - bloods done and drugs increased. So that was good as I was prepared for a battle. As it is such a dose increase though I will do it this weekend in case I have side effects. Wed my gall bladder site was playing up - or more precisely my Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction. Lots of Buscopan and rest. Then yesterday I was shattered because of it. All this means that the meal plan for the week has been very much out of it however I have just made the veggie curry for tomorrow night. Tonight we are going to see comedian Henning Wehn locally and I will be writing this up for my first piece as one of the entertainments reviewers for a local paper! :T Very chuffed about that. I've also been told I've got a couple of press passes for gigs and am waiting on a few others. Most of the ones at the moment are ones I've bought tickets for BUT as I get more established I should be able to get more free gigs. Result. Apart from that not much else. Don't know how everyone else did in the Budget but we're pretty much the same, probably down about £100 over the year but still nose to grindstone and no rewards..... Ah well nil desperandum and all that. Hope everyone has a good day. Will try to pop in over the weekend but might be busy..... just a top up shop to do though as we still have most of the stuff we bought for this week so thats good! Also must get back into doing the consumer surveys etc. Does anyone on here do any comping? How successful are you? I've dabbled in the past but might take it up more seriously.......
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
TTFTM-so very sorry to hear of your furbaby (hugs) After Leo had to be put to sleep just over a month ago I was frantically trying to find photos of him (we lost a lot of the ones on the pc after a virus hacker thingy at Christmas)and eventually got some off DS1s camera card.I printed some out and have 1 on my dressing table and 1 downstairs so I look at him everyday(and talk to him)and find it has helped me though of course I still miss him.
I was pretty devastated and (although some people may think this is strange....) I bought a locket and put a photo of us both in one side and a lock of his fur in the other (I got the fur from his brush). It comforted me to know that I still had something of his with me. I also put his name tag on my key ring so I also have that with me. Nothing can take the pain and emptiness away - but it was as comforting as it could be.Lightbulb moment: -£9,954.31 Current Debt: £0

save-a-holic Not strange at all. I saved feathers from my last budgie and saved up and had a star named after him. Keith...... Can't wait to hear Brian Cox refer to a star as "Keith" LOL
The theatre have just rung - Henning Wehn is stranded in Belfast as flights have been cancelled so the show has been moved to June..... and STILL nothing sticking here.... I am not happy....But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -

Thank you to those that responded about my parcel that has not arrived. I always send all of my parcels 2nd class recorded so I know that it hasn't arrived as the Royal Mail Track & Trace just says that I posted it on 14.03.12 but no further details afterwards. I'm hoping that making a claim through Royal Mail will be quick & easy - but I suspect not....:(
It will take about a month, you need to get a form online and fill it in, and then send proof of the cost of the item, I send a print off of the ebay page with the item on, and a print of the paypal payment, they will try to get out of paying you, so the more evidence you can send the better x0 -

Just deluking to thank Lamewolf for the nut roast recipe. It was lovely and I have slices in the freezer for 'ron(later on).
Can I ask-LW do you defrost it before heating in the microwave?
Anyway thanks again for sharing your recipe.
Good wishes to all and keep warm!
Gintot
We tend to have ours one of two ways - either with spuds and root veggies (I love carrots and could eat them til they came out of my ears) with Marmite gravy, or with boiled rice and HM sweet'n'sour sauce.
Either way, the sauce or gravy gets poured over the microwaved nut loaf, and it seems to work fine.:o
TTFTM so sorry to hear that your furbaby has departed for the Summerlands. He'll have had a grand life with you, specially as he was a rescue case; just give the others lots of cuddles, they'll be missing their little pal too. Have a (((HUG))) from one who knows how awful losing a furbaby is.
Mr LW is in the doghouse today; he "helpfully" loaded his clothes, including the stuff he'd just taken off, into the WM last night, and I set it to work overnight as usual. This morning, he unloaded it, and the next thing I knew he was wittering on something about "washing his keys" and generally not making a lot of sense. Transpired he'd put his trousers in the WM with his leather key pouch in the pocket. And his front door key has vanished off it's hook, presumably somewhere into the machine.:mad: I can't get the filter apart (my hands simply can't cope with it) so he'll have to do that tonight - I've told him, if it bu88ers up the WM, he's footing the bill for a new one.:mad::mad:
Of course, he's got to wait for me to let him in when he gets home; I wasn't about to let him have my key, in case the parcel I have on order arrived, as I wouldn't then be able to open the front door to receive it.
I may make him stand on the doorstep for a while before I let him in.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

TTFTM I'm so sorry about your loss. We don't have pets anymore, but I have lost pets in the past. It's amazing how much they touch your life.
Rage I think Henning Wehn is really funny, such a shame it's been cancelled.
Bitterly cold here, but the snow isn't settling. I've been and done the food shop though so we have enough food for the week if we get snowed in. I never worry though, we're 5 minutes walk from a pub, Co-op, Chinese, Indian, chippy, pizza and burger takeaways. We won't starve while they're open, not very OS though.
I bought a huge gammon joint in Sainsburys today, they were all half price. I think I can get 5 decent meals (for the 4 of us) from it. I think I'm going to section it up before I cook it.
I bought some Rolo's for myself too (£1 for 4 packs). I'm going to enjoy those tonight while I cross stitch. Yum yum.0 -
Hi All, I'm a bit new to this type of thread but I'm quite proud of my OS day :j
Was off work and OH was on a half day (works from home) so had a hearty breakfast: morning rolls with Lorne and tattie scones (all YS) and egg from Mum's hens then cleaned, hoovered and tidied the house, got all the laundry done and organised my art desk in the office. AND managed to tackle the mending pile *smug* Wind is now at a force 10 and Cal Mac are cancelling all boats here.
Off for a bubble bath and then time to curl up with the new Jack Reacher HB (50p) until OH comes home from extreme metal detecting and makes dinner. Risotto (from cupboard) followed by cake (YS) and custard 7p :rotfl:0 -

Thank you everyone for the well wishes and hugs, it really means a lot.
DH and I are determined to spend the evening celebrating his happy life, rather than mourning him. The other two naughty little pets will be getting lots of fuss and love and cuddles tonight, to make up for the loss of their friend.LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin
