  • Good morning everyone

Am extremely sad today as we lost one of the 3 naughty little pets yesterday. We came home and he looked like he had died peacefully in his sleep. Cried all night and am crying again now writing this. I need to get my act together, I am in work and I can't stop looking at his picture by my desk and remembering all the fun times we have had since he came home to us from the rescue. The other two seem lost and keep looking for him. DH is in pieces too, I won't tell DD and GDD today because it's GDD's brithday but they will be very upset too.

Terrible weather, thick snow and icy wind. Hope everyone is well, warm and safe.

    TTFTM x

Well DH got dd2 to school , I think it was a difficult journey as its so hilly here , but he's home now, dd1 is coming on the train this afternoon :j. I feel a lot happier now

Have cleaned up downstairs and hoovered , washed the kitchen floor , done 2 loads of washing cleaned the bathroon and got some bread proving .

I made a Paul Hollywood loaf last night and it came out like a brick :(. It's the third recipe of his that has failed , it must be me but I've gone back to my old trusty bread recipe today

Off to have a cuppa :)

    Edited to say TTFTM. (((Hugs)))

    Morning all,

Bright sunshine here although its very cold, take care those of you with snow, Sistercas I hope your dd manages to get home x

Ttftm I am so sorry for your loss xx

nlj1520 hope your weekend goes ok, and Happy Birthday to your son xx

Saveaholic, you will probably end up having to refund, ebay is always on the buyers side, and posting 2nd class you have no way of tracing the parcel, I always send my items recorded this way I can track them, it is a bit more expensive, but at least you are covered that way.

Off into town in a while I have a cheque to pay in, and need to nip in the chemist.

Dinner tonight will be hot dogs in a bun, with wedges.

Need to have a quick clear up.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all!
TTFTM sorry for your loss, pets are just like extra children for us!
Am off out for lunch with my friend, doubt it will be as late as usual ( famous last words ) cos the snow's off for now but by the look of the sky no for long. Chicken and chorizo stew from the freezer for DD's dinner, with microwaved piri piri rice. No other OS here today, as it will soon be wine o'clock! Naughty Jools;)
Have a good day all and stay safe in the snow and rain!

    Hello Everyone

Just deluking to thank Lamewolf for the nut roast recipe. It was lovely and I have slices in the freezer for 'ron(later on).

Can I ask-LW do you defrost it before heating in the microwave?

Anyway thanks again for sharing your recipe.

Good wishes to all and keep warm!

  • Jools27 Have you had Piri Piri rice before? I only ask because I brought some into work for my lunch earlier this week and it nearly blew my head off!!

TTFTM. I am so VERY sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my furry baby last July and I still think about him now. ((Hug))

Thank you to those that responded about my parcel that has not arrived. I always send all of my parcels 2nd class recorded so I know that it hasn't arrived as the Royal Mail Track & Trace just says that I posted it on 14.03.12 but no further details afterwards. I'm hoping that making a claim through Royal Mail will be quick & easy - but I suspect not....:(

    Hi everybody,

Brrr, that's all I can say :eek:It has been snowing but the main roads are fine,it's the awful wind thats making it worse.Did my shopping early this morning cos DH gave me a lift there and back, they can't get started on their job till 1.Still have quite a bit to put away but I'm having a cuppa first.

We lit the log burner last night after DGD went, and I banked it up and shut it down so it was still in this morning so its lovely and warm.

I'm debating whether to order some material online to make a dress.I don't think it would come in time for me to make it and wear it to DS engagement do in 2 weeks, but we have a wedding in May,and DGNs christening in June so it might be worth it.

sistercasThats a shame, I've been busy reading the new thread about PHs bread prog and they all sounded yummy.I'm ok with the breadmaker but when I make by hand mine are often heavy.I'm going to record the repeat of the 1st prog which I missed, then series link.

TTFTM-so very sorry to hear of your furbaby (hugs) After Leo had to be put to sleep just over a month ago I was frantically trying to find photos of him (we lost a lot of the ones on the pc after a virus hacker thingy at Christmas)and eventually got some off DS1s camera card.I printed some out and have 1 on my dressing table and 1 downstairs so I look at him everyday(and talk to him :))and find it has helped me though of course I still miss him.

Right the shopping wont put itself away so better get off.Stay safe and warm everybody xx

    TTFTM - so sorry x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
