By your own admittance you buried your head in the sand!! They can only work with the correct information if it is provided to them, our MP was of no use to be honest.
We have always dealt with them by phone, as I am the kind of person who likes answers etc., 'now' plus a name to refer back to!!
I would pick up the phone and deal with it, we also got immense support from

Yeah your right, i buried my head in the sand when i should of acted and done something........ i cant argue with that.
In my view, if child support calculations are such that they put you on the street, then those calculations are wrong wrong wrong and shouldnt be paid. Its self defeating, whats the point in a child seeing his father on the street?
I`m not advocating non payment of maint, i`m just saying what 10,000`s of people have said before me, the system is too rigid and doesnt really work, for neither PWC or NRP. This is no better than the old system of taking NRP to local court and letting him swear under oath and Magistrate deciding what should be paid.0 -
Just out of interest, do you actually have £5000 that you could pay now...???
If so, why haven't you already paid it...???
I mean you have arrears, it has been to court, they have an LO and a Charge on your house, you do know they can go straight after bank accounts as well now don't you...0 -

The nett amount of my earnings in total, over 12years, that are applicable for maint calcs after allowable deductions, comes to 28K.
In your defence i would say that you do not know the whole story........
you haven't loved on £2.3k (or thereabouts) a year for the last 12 years though, have you?0 -
How did you manage to get a mortgage on a house if your earnings were so low all these years?0

No, its effectively 9years, i lived in Republic of Eire for 18month, when i came back i gave PWC cash. Ive had about 12month on the dole.
Plus protected earnings of about £2500= about £5.5k a year, over about 9 years......... about £400 p/m net.0 -

Yes i know all about them........
I can borrow 5k........
5K on condition of removing all LO and CO`s.......0 -
I just don't get this, i'm not judging, but it makes no sense, you attend Uni full time, you have a mortgage, and your ex is a violent alcohol and drug abuser... Oh and you owe £38,000
Just out of interest, how do you pay your mortgage now...???
And how is it that somebody who is a violent drug and alcohol user that is clearly a low life in your eyes never claimed benefit at the start of your claim...??? As if she did the money would be owed to the DWP and not the Ex... So obviously worked...
Personally i don;t think we have the whole story, and at best we have a very very biased one sided story...
I know there are always 2 sides, and people have tried to give advice on here for you, but for me it makes no sense, and the dates make no sense etc... But it's your story and if you say it is the truth then i guess that it's the truth as you see it...0 -
Agree with Kevin, too early to do Maths, but if all you had to pay was £55 a month and that was 15% of your salary, it makes a very low salary to get a mortgage. In 2006, you didn't get 100% mortgages.0
