Baby travel systems (merged)

  • I had the Graco Quattro travel system (think they still sell a version of this in mothercare). It was great, except it folded down to a large square shape and was bulky. It wasn't a problem at the time because i didn't have a car but in retrospect i wouldn't have it again.

    Hi folks,

Id just like to draw on anyones experience of the best child travel system that will fit in the boot of a corsa. Baby is due in early June so Im looking around. I had a look at the graco vivo one on the internet (just new out) but cant see any in shops yet.

    any ideas

    Many thanks

Consider a Quinny Buzz - the chassis of ours fits in the boot of our Aygo, so it will easily fit in a Corsa. The Maxi Cosi car seat clips onto the chassis. You don't need to use the seat part of the pushchair until your baby is about 6 months old so this can stay at home.

i had the big graco travel system (not sure of the name) and it will not fit in the boot of many small cars including a corsa.

I would recommend going to the likes of Mothercare and trying them out. Fitting into the car is only one of many features it will need - Handle height, swivel wheels, basket, how the pushchair bit lays back, ease of collapsing etc.

Without being able to try them out, you may end up with an item that is rubbish for you.

And you do not have to buy it from Mothercare! But you should look and get your hands on them.

Graco Quattro Deluxe definitely does not fit into a Corsa.

I think it depends on the style of corsa perhaps? I know my cousin has both a corsa (not the foggiest which style tho sorry) and a quattro deluxe, she says it just fits in the boot but you can't get anything else in there!

Tina, I'm having the same challenge (but have until September rather than June but I like to be organised!), I have a fiesta and I really want something where I can fit the pram and other stuff in the boot! Do you mean the new Graco Cleo (rather than Vivo) btw? Mothercare has a Vivo but apparantly only online, it doesn't appear to be very compact either. If it is the Vivo that you liked try looking at the Mothercare Atlan they appear to be very similar prams :-) I'm looking at the Graco mosaic one but I'm not sure how good it is, that wasn't a great deal of assistance was it! lol

It was a 3 door hatchback? (I'm not good with car terms.) It didn't fit with the boot shelf thingy. I don't like having contents of boot on display. (Don't have the Corsa anymore.)
  • I echo what Skylight said, make sure you try them out first as size isn't everything. I did lots of internet research and was convinced I knew which pushchair I would get and in the end went for something totally different when trying them all out in the flesh. I was also pleasantly suprised at how many models fitted in my small car boot.

Er *thinks* yes it is. No idea, what year it is though (which I reckon will make a big difference) or if they took the shelf off for not, I didn't think to ask! I don't think I'd want to contents of my boots on display either though!
