Posted on Gumtree few times too....pretty bad response though.
When I have some money (LOL) will put an ad on dog friendly britain - they are expensive though..hmmm0 -
Could you get a link put on here?
http://www.doggiepubs.org.uk/
A direct link to your daughters website on the links page, but also contact the others on there (plus2dogs etc)0 -
Thanks Katy my my daughter's place is a B&B not a pub so really not suitable... BUt thanks anyway
Oh, I see.. the "Links" tab... will have a look.
Have you or anyone you kow used that site to look for holidays with a dog?0 -
I have used it to look, but didn't actually book anywhere as we didn't end up going away!
I use it when going on day trips to find places to eat, and then stumbled across the holidays links.0 -
Who designed the website for her? Do you know if it has been optimised for search engines ie if you search for the words dog friendly hotel lake district or dog friendly b&b lake district does her website come up? If not it's worth paying a company (or asking a friend who is techie) to do the necessary to get her website featuring as high as possible when relevant terms are searched.0

Is the website fully optimised for Google? Above and beyond that - make sure all the languages are spot on. Many places now use Google translation for foreign customers and it ends up actually putting people off.0

Her own website is a problem here I know that.
If someone knows her B&B name and types it in - lots of lisitng comes up (booking com etc with her listing) but without knowing the name - her site does not come up under any key word searches.
It has been done "by a friend" who does not even live in UK and I myself have no access to make any changes, neither does she.
Yup, that is an issue and thanks for bringing that up.. No idea how to "optimise" the site so it comes up in searches

I see you particularly ask about websites, so this might not be helpful!
I have looked in the publication "Pets Welcome" guess it could be dear to advertise in there. There is at least one other Pet welcome book.
Adverts in the back of magazines such as Country Living, Your Dog.
Area accommodation brochures from the tourist boardBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

It may have been a false economy to have the website done by a friend. As I understand it your daughter needs to build her business up quickly it may be worth investigating some of the sites that DO come up when you search the relevant terms Have a look at who designed their website and consider getting them to do a site for your daughterMake £2026 in 2026

Thanks but at the moment I simply can not afford that, neither can she.
Can someone let me what tags should be placed in the webside code? Like a list of tags?
It is lovely, boutique style, pet friendly B&B in Windermere, Cumbria, Lake Districts so what "tags" should be there to help make it show up in Google?
