Could do with one, but at £8 and not knowing the best colour/size I'll need I've been waiting. I put my kitchen rubbish into carrier bags.
I have a cheap (Wilkos I think) silver coloured plastic swing top bin which is currently sat in my parents' garage full of 'stuff'. Its not particularly nice, but it is a bin and it will be fine until one day long in the future I have a beautiful kitchen. It will certainly look the part in the student kitchen I am hopefully buying.0 -

I dislike courgettes.....
I don't like courgettes, aubergines, broad beans, stringy green beans and, of course, mushrooms.
You should maybe eat with my parent!
Aubergines cause big distress. As to some other veg.
Most of the time I ignore it. They did with me growing up:D. And expected me to have perfect table manners in difficult situations. I wouldn't put food that was disliked out regularly, but the problem is everything they dislike are my favourites, and I just cannot eat most of the things that are their favourite things, because its too heavy for me (and them tbh, they will be dying from diet related issues almost certain).
Anyway...just said...and took it on the chin and with a grin....apple pie has soften the blow:D. Sweet tooth (and diabetes.)

What else do you Need that you don't have....
Spending on temporary stuff is utterly depressing IMO. Getting it free is much nicer, The amount saved can go in a pot marked 'proper kitchen'.0 -

It's my one/last chance of having a nice place to live, which I've never achieved before.0 -

Me too pretty please:oPlease stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Nothing really - I think I have the basics. Would be useful if I can buy the cooker/ washing machine/ fridge/ freezer that were there when I looked around. If not I'll look on ebay/ freecycle. Will think about buying if no other option.
The aim will be to avoid buying temporary stuff as much as possible. I'll be trying to wait and save up/ look for offers and buy the things I really like.
I can be very patient, and am used to living like a cheapskate. I have already warned people to expect a retro student living experience if they come and stay with me in the next few years0 -

I have a cheap (Wilkos I think) .
Just looking online - there's so much to tempt you into buying stuff you don't need.

Yeah, I reckon its still worth buying white goods.....
The time scale of kitchen matters....
If its a code of years and you want built in then buy the ones with funny missing doors. We reckon were longer than that so bought ones with doors....white goods don't last THAT long nowadays,, by a decade we'll probably be ready to replace I guess.
That said, I love something's so much I'm not sure I want to replace. Silver car advised really well when she said to get a quiet Miele dishwasher. Its almost silent. Same with my Miele washing machine, I barely hear either. They'll hopefully live forever, and then later I'll have doors made to match whatever replaces them
If you are not going for concealed appliances of course, it makes no odds, and its worth just buying them I the soonest sale.0 -

And then there'd be lots of "oddball" quirks that turn me off.
On the other hand, if it's round the corner from here, with a garage, modern, no feature walls, everything perfect, and on at £175k I might have a go at a quick gazump
I don't think the area will appeal, but there is a garage...
Its over your budget too. It was over what I was planning as my budget!0
