811, class motors - Mercedes, shame they ever stopped production, you can still see the odd one knocking around and they finished making them mid to late 90s.

    Hahahaaha

That would be young for something under lots of horse boxes! My first lorry, was kitted out in the early seventies I think ( Bedford tk ) It had beautiful, beautiful living. In solid wood, I cannot remember whether it was oak or mahogany now, but it was stunning.

Only problem was. Solid wood is heavy. I think I was extremely lucky never to get weighed in it, and I would never, ever buy something like that now.

I know the sort of lay out I'd want now (really basic....very little living...certainly no cooker or anything). If I were to get one again now I'd need things I used to think we're luxuries.....hydrolics on the ramps, and I'd really want two ramps.

The difference in a lorry to a trailer is astounding, both for the driver IMO, and for the horses, but increasingly with tachos etc I cannot see me getting one again. Not just for me and DH, or maybe to run a friend somewhere as a favour.

(Edit, I have had a Mercedes, a Bedford tk and something else, cannot remember what......

A couple of friends that have horses have moved from trucks to trailers though they only move short distances. They used to go further afield and it was handy to have the living area.

Aren't you pretty exempt from most of the taccho regs on horses?

No idea bugslet, no idea now. :)

Trailers give a pretty rough ride. I've heard good things about fautras, but for the money an old hunting lorry would be cheaper to buy........

Possibly the least MSE thing on the planet is an old horse box!

I miss my Bedford tk. It's only problem was its weight issue. It was a dream.

I think there is always an element of luck in how you fare in the world, hard work can't be replaced, but luck can fall either way and its completely whimsical in its selection process.

Because she can do the jobs, but she can't sell herself at interview to make people realise what she's capable of.

Hence why she gets particularly fed up when NP talk about rejecting interviewees because they can't answer irrelevant questions.

If you think establishing someone's basic motivation for a role is irrelevant then you should see the email I've just been sent about a job I have just applied for.

I have to go to a 4 hour long assessment centre which involves:

An interview with a chartered psychologist about the results of a psychometric test I have to complete in advance.

An interview about "competencies" involving questions on subjects such as "inspiring and engaging", "ambassador, advocate and networker", and "building and delivering a shared vision".

Then I have to do a role play in which I have to deliver some difficult messages to an actor pretending to be someone who I manage.

Finally I have to do a case study which actually may be relevant depending on content.

I can't wait. I assume I will be rejected after the interview with the psychologist either because (s)he labels me as a sociopath or I punch him (same thing I suppose). If I make it through to the proper interview that will just be a test of whether I've made up more bullshyte than the other applicants.
