My top driver earned over £38k last year, admittedly he was away from home some of the time, but we are at the cushy/nice end of haulage, stand over days in hotels in Madrid and Paris, all expenses paid ( within reason!) and all he did was call in for a chat, we thought he seemed OK, both agreed to see how we both felt after 3 months.

For jumping through that many hoops:eek: I can only assume that it must pay over a £110k a year.

I could never ever get a job, will have to stick to running a business.

Good luck at MacDonalds chewie :)
You'll make a champion flipper if you get through that lot.

I'd be surprised if they let me near any hot surfaces after my psychological assessment.

If you think establishing someone's basic motivation for a role is irrelevant then you should see the email I've just been sent about a job I have just applied for.

I have to go to a 4 hour long assessment centre which involves:

An interview with a chartered psychologist about the results of a psychometric test I have to complete in advance.

An interview about "competencies" involving questions on subjects such as "inspiring and engaging", "ambassador, advocate and networker", and "building and delivering a shared vision".

Then I have to do a role play in which I have to deliver some difficult messages to an actor pretending to be someone who I manage.

Finally I have to do a case study which actually may be relevant depending on content.

I can't wait. I assume I will be rejected after the interview with the psychologist either because (s)he labels me as a sociopath or I punch him (same thing I suppose). If I make it through to the proper interview that will just be a test of whether I've made up more bullshyte than the other applicants.

Ugh. Sounds dreadful. Hope it's not too awful when you actually go to it.

Is this a promotion where you work, or a switch to a different workplace that you're applying for?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Probably a spammer, trying to get up to the post count where they can post links.

It was me (didn't tell anyone off) . . . I just pointed out that it was a multi post (and added links to the original threads)

There were posters trying to help on the other thread but weren't getting any answers 'cos essvana was busy starting a new one . . .

Thanks for the pm essvana - did you get my reply?

PN, I'm still lost about why you need to tweak one particular website for 2 weeks? I take it that there's a problem with the page ranking on Google? What can you tweak to improve that, and why does it take 2 weeks to do?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    I've been Money Tipped!
    My head is spinning.

In a room where you also have a chrome heated towel rail would a silver painted cast iron radiator be too tacky or ' uniting'? ( Factory painted, not tackily home painted). Grey was my first choice but seems too flat when i visualise and white seems wrong too. I don't want to repaint one of those complicated beggars and I might well repaint the room on occasion.
