Not the rubber shoes...but the heel is falling off my work shoes and I had been meaning to glue it back on for a while so no doubt I still managed to look like a tramp even in my suit (DKs always help by rushing up to daddy and holding on to his trousers without thinking about whether their hands might be covered in yoghurt or whatever).
You looked gorgeously en-suited, not remotely tramp-like.
In fact, as a group, the NP are a lovely lot, every single one of you looked lovely yesterday....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Mr S had given me a good talking to about "stranger danger" with a warning that I had no need to be trafficked for household drudgery or s*x as that was available at home if I was interested.
Mine did that last year... I'm not sure if it is a protective husband thing as IIRC fir said similar. We have in our midst delightful people, touchingly self effacing, humourous, self doubting, unaware of how clever, kind or beautiful they are.
I haven't met all of the NP who came, but certainly that describes those that I have had the privilege to meet.lostinrates wrote: »DH would tan my hide if I put a pic up here :rotfl:
Seeing that expression has absolutely made my day. My granddad used to say it often. He died quite young in 1979 and I haven't heard it since. That will make me smile for the rest of the evening. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I didn't get in until about midnight and definitely drank too much....so apologise if I was too loud and over talked anyone...I really try not to
I also hope I gave MS enough £ as I didn't really add up my food properly (I paid the 2 bottles separately)
Well, next summer I will do Margate Beach Picnic /Open House for any NP's who can bear to spend a few hours with me again as I think we will do the Empty homes grant/ loan application as we can get her up and earning by March 2014 then.
Margate - count me inI'll have properly free weekends by then (woo hoo).
I definitely drank rather a lot of wine too... GBD and zag were rather effifcient glass-topper-uppers! I don't remember anyone exhibiting embarrassing behaviour (GBD you were just very sweet to the waitress) - of course that may have been because I was the most inebriated of the lot
Today has been a bit of a struggle - but we had an afternoon of corporate fun (which was actually not very corporate and quite good fun), outside running around in the sun. At least it didn't involve trying to think! Looking forward to catching up on sleep over the weekend (apologies to those with small children who don't have that luxury).
FC - didn't realise you'd bought 2 bottles - I must owe you at least one! edit: will repay you in wine if there is a next meet up)0 -

That's always annoyed me.... what does "warm" actually mean? To me it means it's a recipe you probably can't make most of the year.....
Wasn't going to make them, I like to look at recipes and think that I could make them
Frying them seems worth it. I've never baked a doughnut, but I fry them roughly once a year. (Not always).
Somewhere warm.....an airing cupboard? Do you have one of them? This time of year a south facing window in the afternoon with a damp cloth over it would do it if not in a draught.0 -

. I always send DH off looking ok on Monday and he comes back looking like.....well, not smart on Friday. Damp, sweaty and like some sort of lower grade retail assistants underlings cast off. I don't know what happens on Fridays. It would be so much easier if he wore a suit still, tbh, he's not very good at this smart casual thing. He keeps talking about getting some cow boy boots and I just don't know what to say.
Reports, exams,......ok, it will be summer holidays soon and then she'll be exhausted from the kids keeping her busY!
My Dad can't remotely do "smart casual". He can do "smart", as he has properly tailored suits, evening dress and morning dress that all fit him very well. He can also do "country-show" dress, involving blazers.
He can do "digging in the garden" or "wrestling with grandchildren" clothes perfectly - jumpers that I remember from when I was Isaac's age and muddy cords.
Nothing in between.
My Dad doesn't wear jeans, ever, or T-shirts, ever....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
If its this sort of time of year and my body doesn't decide to break for summer then DH and I could probably make it a weekend Trip to margate.0
