Wall paper hung back to front in the past.
Years ago somebody I knew bought a huge village green facing Georgian house on 3 storeys..... and I popped round to see it (almost derelict). One bedroom had Beatles wallpaper from the 60s. I think he ripped it off, but stuff like that actually has a 2nd hand marketplace, which is unbelievable.0 -
OH's adopted cousin got random letter from biological mother - I thought that wasn't meant to happen. Name/ address not meant to be released without consent?
There's quite a lot of information available on 192.com if people know the name, eg:
* Phone book data if listed
* Directors info if higher up in a company
* Electoral roll info if allowed
* Older electoral data (pre 2001 data protection) if they haven't moved. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Every year, just after Christmas or so, my mother says, "Lighter every day, from now on!"
Every year, on this day, my Dad emails all of us and says, and he has today:
Darker every day from now until Christmas!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I never had brothers, and friends (including vitual ones) who are caring and teasing and funny and warm always are especially valued to me because I wanted brothers so very much.
I'm not sure that there's a massive difference, really. The differences between my 3 siblings aren't mostly gender-based, but individual-based, if that makes sense?
I adore my Bruv - but my sisters are wonderful too....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I'd swap my sister for a brother any day of the week. But then I have friends with only brothers who longed for a sister.
All I know is I really wanted a brother or a few of them. I am also not one of those women who says 'I prefer men and don't have many girlfriends' but I do find the dynamic between my male and female friends is often different.0 -

I like men and women as friends.
I think I'm lucky to have both a brother and sisters....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I too like a balance of sexes as friends. In fact, I value the differences and balance of all the variety in my friendships.
I think YOU are luck to have both a brother and sisters as they are lucky to have you. I can think of others I think are lucky to be only children :rotfl:
I've just worked out its warm enough to have a bath filling with the shower if I take the shower head of. I am one VERY HAPPY BUNNY.0 -

It was a small village, she'd only have had to turn up to be able to find/spot him within an hour or so. They'd kept his first name and he was very distinctive looking (looked just like her).
There are, sometimes, ways for people to track some people down. It's discussed on other threads here there's lots of ways kids can be identified especially with photographs being on social sites.
Plus school videos DVDs websites etc.
Remember the Darwin family from the East Midlands who thought that Panama had a different internet from the UK?:D
The world's getting better connected more and more and I'd imagine privacy's becoming more of an aspiration than a reality.:o
I should point out he is now in his forties, so no school photos etc and doesn't do facebook.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
