For those NPs looking for somewhere nice to stay, here's an interesting offer!

 That is very strange.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Not guilty. I've never represented Abu Qatada. Done other "preachers of hate", but not him.

Keith Vaz's mental arithmatic sucks - he says it could have paid for 90 PCs for a year, but that would mean they'd be paid between £7k and £8k each, which is rather unlikely.

Back from the wedding - PN, whatever the "no partners" motive was, I don't think it was cost - the whole thing must have cost an absolute fortune. They hired the whole Royal Courts of Justice for the whole day, and had 400 guests. And a professional-looking TV crew video-ing it, coaches bussing guests around, cameras everywhere, more alcohol than you could shake a very large stick at (free treble whisky from the bar, for example).

Amazing food, too. Fantastic evening all round!

I absolutely adore that idea. Without doubt the best aesthetic solution.

I just don't think we can afford it.

    Of course you can.

    Squeeze something else.

A dining table is for Xmas, a bath is for......:)
Thanks Hamish...that would have been a beautiful, beautiful solution. :):T.

    :A

    But Shhhhhh....

    You'll ruin my reputation.;)

Errm, yes, I think I agree with you there.

I think he needs something, and it's certainly not a lodger..........

    Hmmm.

I'd do it for a job but not for a place to stay. I like eccentric loonies, know a lot of them, probably am one. But I've seen too many to put my security at their whim and under their control.

We're squeezing everything ATM. Bathroom is still going to be a very comfortable five figures without deluxe corian bathtub. :(. With the bupa excesses about to get another round of bashing too ...well....we're not going on holiday. The car situation is looking a bit grotty too. A mechanic is going to give us a price on resurrecting the beast today, which would mean I could get a little runabout. We'd be a two car family (well, three counting parent) but the beast would effectively be a business car which I'd do very very few personal miles a year in.

Business account is also getting a bashing this year. Fencing and school building. Within a year period we will have spent something like dh earns in 20 months...just in the house....not thinking about our ongoing running costs.

Perhaps that's the cost of training one, rather than employing one.
