Our neighbour calls round. He has a problem. When he built his extension the owners of our house refused to chop down their conifers, forcing him to dig extra deep foundations. Now it appears that the foundations may not have been dug properly and there may be some subsidence. Insurers have been trying to fob him off by blaming the trees. So he wants us to refuse to agree to the trees being cut down unless the insurers can provide proof that they are causing a problem.

That has got to be a first, a neighbour asking for leylandii not to be cut down...
    I think....

I've spent hours uploading some photos to flickr. Got one of their free terrabyte accounts and uploading the photos I've taken with my camera. Found a directory on my PC with a load and started uploading them... thought it'd never end. It was only 450 photos, 770MB in total.... it's taken about 6-7+ hours of continual uploading/waiting.

If I selected a batch of images (30-50) and clicked upload.... I could then watch telly for half an hour or so while it did it.

    Phew. Caught up. :)
    This.

Being single is a huge bonus when it comes to bathrooms PN. I always have to share with grotty men, who seem to swim from shower to sink. I don't know how they get so much water everywhere, and the bath mat is always wringing wet. I really don't know how they do it. In the past I've done a full tarts wash and shave and foot scrub. and made only the tiniest fraction of water spill. Every thing I spill can be cleaned to almost dry with a wrung out face cloth. A dry one would dry it.

Adult male - pah! For a really chaotic bathroom, give me a little girl who thinks she is old enough to have her bath all by herself....
I'm wondering how to light secret dwarf room, spots or wall lights? Led strips? Considering its so low whatever is there is going to be touchable so led seems wise, its cooler, right?

I think its the kind of secret room kids would adore. I know Lydia is really busy with exams, other wise I would beg her for her kids opinions on what they would do with the room.....cat playroom? Tv watching on your belly room? (Really, its not tall enough for most children to stand in, but to sit cross legged in would be possible).

I'll ask them in the morning. :)
    Hi guys. I'm back :-)
    How you all doing??

Lovely to have you back, inspector. Best wishes to you and Daisy and the rest of the family. :hello:

Finished the exam marking now. Day off today (went to see my dad) but back to the grindstone tomorrow - time to start on my reports.

Pre-inquest site visit happening on Monday. Will be travelling up with my solicitor on the train. Probably won't be allowed to tell you what happened at it when I get back, but don't suppose there's any harm in just mentioning that it's going to happen and I'll be attending. (Actual inquest still not due for months yet, though.)

Want to add my "NHS done good" story to the mix. Care of DD and particularly DS (whose injuries were worse than hers) was great, both in hospital immediately afterwards and all the outpatient stuff. Can only think of one thing they ought to have done better (referring DS to paediatric physio once he had had the metalwork removed from his arm) - all the rest was excellent. Hugs to NP whose experiences with the NHS have been otherwise.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

I read about it on the BBC website, and it looked fascinating.

I agree, but I think that adult males add a certain "yuck" to the general chaos that small girls can't quite match.
