No, getting there would be fine, its getting home that would be a problem. I need to do that in a car, door to door.

Anyway, I have told parent now. That's the worst bit I hope. I am sure it will all be fine. :)
You should investigate if there are any local "volunteer drivers", they charge about 40p/mile each way.

I just did a quick google and there's a website for your village (as a group of 3 villages). On that website there's a page for "good neighbours" and they mention arrangements for health transport - and a phone number and email you can ask if there's anything available to you for future knowledge at least.

Website address is your village/your county.org.uk

    So e........w........ org.uk

It's part of your research and development budget. Every human needs to have one. Otherwise, you live a life where you eat the same meals forever.

Actually, the entire point of research & development is that around 80% of the time it will be a failure, but the 20% where it works you have learned something worth knowing.
Research and development is once the basics are covered... which they're not. Getting it wrong/wasting money would make me sad

Could you advertise anywhere to swap parents with somebody who has more ideal ones?

Do you think any one might swap ideal parents for not ideal ones? :D

    Serious
Y, its pretty good of parent to step up to the plate for this. I'm grumbling rather than complaining. :)

I've generally held a theory that there is an element of balance in life, a kind of yin & yang, where a person can only have so much good stuff, and there has to be some bad stuff to give balance.

I suscribe to the harder I work the luckier I get theory. Where work is anything I value.

Despite this I have had my own, and seen, 'runs of bad luck' that are unavoidable for whoever is suffering it.

That I am lucky in love does not mean I deserved the bad stuff. It does mean that I have empathy.

Do any NPs play golf? I have a totally true golf story for you.

We were sitting near the 18th hole, and watched the groundsman come and move the hole. I gather it's normal practice to move the holes around the greens to even out wear. He dug a new hole and used the plug of soil from the new hole to fill in the old one. He stuck the flag in the new hole and went on his way.

A few minutes later, a lady golfer played her approach shot onto the green and it hit precisely on the spot where the hole had been a few minutes earlier. A great shot, but her timing was a little bit off. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
