Can I adopt a bunny? Whenever I am back in the Midlands, I go into the put shop that is a few doors away from where my mum works and visit the rabbits. I usually manage to 'choose' at least one that I would like too. :o
Why not volunteer at a local bunny rescue.... no commitment and you might meet a nice young vet-man. :)

Is it free to adopt a bunny? Does anyone check up on what happens to the bunny post-adoption?

Don't worry, I'm much too lazy to do this...

So, as I said, while ndg is bound to worry, sometimes children are just slower learners at certain things & sometimes 'experts' are, IMO, too quick to use 'labels'.

And sometimes they are not quick enough. It was because of the 'too quick to label' idea that youngest was not diagnosed in time to receive the specialist pre school therapy he needed. Instead, he was stuck with an 'autistic like behaviour' tag which didn't allow him access to the specialised speech therapy designed for autistic children, the specialised play therapy, socialisation therapy etc...and as an extra kick in the teeth, because of his difficulties, he couldn't access normal speech or play therapy either as it wasn't suitable!

It was left to me to do my own research on the internet, learn the different techniques (my research was from American sites) and put it into place in a bid to get a completely non verbal, non eye contacting, non socialising lump of human tissue to somewhere where he could actually do anything.

I don't think I have too bad to be honest.....:D
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The home check makes sure you can offer the bunny the right environment..suitable housing etc. They are usually homed in pairs..so you would need to be very hungry.

Pastures..I think it odd that there are volunteers who check up on the quality of bunny housing...maybe we should have NP volunteers to look after your interests?

If we have not homed you somewhere suitable in a12 months it will curtains though.

I've not been in a meeting that uses it yet, but everyone says its actually pretty good.

I'm happy sticking to typing - you can't see me sat on the sofa in a jogging bottoms and an old hoodie with frayed sleeves :)
I was sort of imagining that while our virtual selves might be 'loosely based' on our actual selves that the software would allow us a bit of poetic licence...

    Spirit household news:

Sunday...DD...a 25 year old who works, is mid dissertation, missing having a horse to ride, and getting to grips with life after our loss goes to the RSPCA to get new 'older neutered male' to keep our single older female bunny (Molly) company (we also have a young bonded pair).

They have no bunnies matching the requirement, so she comes home having reserved the pair of bunnies who had been there the longest and were hard to home. We await a home inspection...and she is still on the look out for a companion for Molly. So we will shortly be up to 6 rabbits.

DD2 keeps talking about wanting rabbits. I have to politely explain that the preparation is a pain in the butt and that the rabbit you buy already in plastic wrap with no fur or internal organs at Waitrose is plenty fresh enough.
    I think....

Mum and dad's late dog, who died a few years ago after living to the grand old age of 20!
