So, what happens in the official announcement? It's a bit weird squeezing even more ceremony out of this thing. Perhaps for the official reveal we need a camp performance and some fireworks or the fog effect and wind blowing a back the hair and over done dress of an over made up and strangely dressed person as they read put the announcement?

    It's a 'paperwork signed' thing.

This is the part I have no dealings with, due to other interests :)

I found out today that the Spanish FA Cup final was moved to avoid a clash with the Eurovision finals.

    Wow. That's all :)

I suppose it maintains harmony in marriages across some parts of Europe. In my house both are a non event, so its not a wow. We'd watch Eurovision over football I think.

It's funny and the costumes can be really amazing. :)

As for the paperwork signed thing....all sounds a bit low key and disappointing now. Pffft.

I'm just surprised that they would move it for Eurovision. Can't imagine them moving the English FA Cup for Eurovision! Do they really take it that seriously in any of the other countries?
As I've said, I do enjoy watching it (esp with a bottle of wine) - but I have to be honest, I don't see it as a hugely significant cultural event.

Edit: and in terms of paperwork, I agree - surely it would add much more to the 'official announcement' if the running order hadn't been unveiled already?

I think it was for legal reasons (there was a clash as the same company had TV rights for both and the only/cheapest outcome) was the move.

I tried to make it sound more dramatic. I do that sometimes if you hadn't noticed.

This morning it was warm.....it put on a summery skirt and a vest and a light cardi (one of my nicest..not really a warm thing, but a style one) and now I am sitting in the kitchen with a heater on and my granny slipper boots on and a blanket round me. Dog dog has made a cocoon from her duvet and kiwi is asleep on top of the dog dog duvet heap, like a cherry on a Belgian bun.

Old dog is fine, She is so hardy!

    This morning was sodding freezing.

We moved house a little while ago so I start off my ride into work negotiating a busy road. It's a 200m ride along the pavement to the lights, wait 2 mins to cross and then get through a hideous roundabout system. It's stop/start, slow and messy.

Then I've got a great descent, probably 60m drop in 800m of road. When I get to the speed ramp at the bottom I'm doing about 70km/h, which makes negotiating the speed hump a challenge but that's another story.

In the summer it was fine. Now we're getting a bit more wintery I have no way to get the muscles warm and I get very cold on the descent. Then there's a short, sharp climb afterwards that I have to do with the blood all in the wrong place.

If I was clever about it I'd do a few minutes on a static bike before setting off. I'd rather spend it drinking coffee and watching the kids wake up though.

    Oh well.

Oh yeah - that makes more sense! I must be getting carried away with all the serious Eurovision talk on here :rotfl:

Big black cloud over my shed.... it's been verging on nippy most of the morning. I am perpetually under a blanket, for warmth, but it's for comfort too.... nothing like a blanket round you to make you feel all's well in the world.

All is not well in the online world as Google's been hammering "people like me" down and down and down .... and now, down again. It's relentless.

I've been working my little nuttz off for the past couple of weeks to tweak my stats up and up and up ... then, over the weekend, whamo - traffic's dropped across the board by 30%.

To put it in perspective.... what, 2 years ago, was a £40-50/day regular occurrence, is now more like £6-8/day.

Why are Google hammering you do you think PN?

Is it a side effect of something else for example or a deliberate move to drive a chunk of the interworld out of business?

    :D

I think I might have to change. It's just too cold. Grrrr.
