Irritating day. Sat about for ages, then got adjourned well after lunch. So pointless, really might as well have stayed in bed all day!

Better that than have your professional competence questioned by people with no ability or experience or qualifications to do so (whilst equally displaying a complete lack of respect for professional boundaries) all in a group email!

If you fancy a curry at the Indian restaurant (discussed a few threads back) I'd be up for it. Ndg likes it and maybe some others would too. It'd be good to see some NPs in real life.

(I've met at least one NP in real life. I think he's met some others. You've all got the wit to PM him to check whether he thinks I'm Hannibal Lecter.)

I think this is one of the more "real" threads. Not offended if anyone decides either way. :)

I'm up for it....love a good curry though the only snag with a restaurant situ is you can't move around all the different people as easily....maybe bar 1st then curry ;)
The thing about these meet ups is that there is always te risk of an oddball. Most of the np I'd adore to spend a meal chatting with, meeting in person, but the oddball being there or having my email address is not comforting. Therefore I am hesitating to join any email group about this.

Of course, i could leave foundinrates at home ;)

Arranged by PM it should n't attract any oddballs as they won't know where it is.
I can say with 99% certainty I won't be going to the big scarey London, to get lost, to meet people in a pub where I probably can't sit down ..... only to feel small, inadequate, say something stupid, then return home.

    Not my thing :)

......as GB said, we'll could come to you instead :)

You can all come to Margate instead if you like.....we exchange end this week or early next week though the house is a right mess so we won't be able to be in it ...but you can come and check it out if you like :)

I may be a bit awol over the next couple of weeks but if I miss a post could someone e-mail me.

We have a whole new family/domestic drama to sort out now as MIL have decided to def leave her 2nd husband.....but the boys (OH and his brother) are going to have to sort her out a flat/income and so on. It's consuming a lot of my spare headspace.

Had my 50th yesterday........so now I am gliding down the other side of the zag.

I'd recommend this website for such an account. You can have lots of choices of names. www.mail.com

I'd never ask anyone to give away their identity. There's other threads where everyone uses proper names (if that's what they are).

On another matter, does anyone hear from Wheezy?

Wondered the same a while ago (wheezy).

On the name front, I'd just give mine. I'm too forgetful to remember a nom de plume.

Met someone from another forum as mentioned previously. Had to repeatedly remind myself not to call him by his user-name!:o

Hope you had a good one, but sliding down the other side of the zag? How many sides does zag have?;)

Personally, I think I'd prefer email - think its easier to organise than pm'ing separately? (but email exchanged by pm where necessary)?
Edit: if I were to make the rather large assumption that I was invited :)

Sorry to hear about your family drama. Hope that all get sorted as swiftly and painlessly as possible.

So how has the person you're buying edit:[STRIKE]off [/STRIKE]from been? Have they realised they're not getting a suitcase full of cash?

And most importantly, Happy Birthday for yesterday, fc :bdaycake:

    So, now either:
    1. I don't get an invite for this get together, then wonder in a paranoid way whether I am an oddball (I am) or,
    2. I get invited, and end up worrying about how to turn you down gracefully because I think you're all a squeak away from being in a hitchcock movie (y'all are)

    No offence :)

Last time we arranged to meet up IRL, we decided it was better to make the actual arrangements more privately than the actual NPT. I suggest that when you get as far as setting a time and a date, you do it by PM, or even email. (Some of us know each other's email addresses.) I would certainly love to come if I can make it work, but an evening thing in London isn't the easiest thing for me to manage logistically because I would have to arrange a sleepover for my kids with somebody.
Last time a meet up with gen was discussd didn't someone get violent?

Can I suggest this goes to private communication like email?

You're younger than me ( and I'm the same age as the space troubadour on Youtube).

Lir and Lydia could you please edit your posts above to hide the identity of the restaurant.

I expect you're imagining it'll be like the Addams Family meets the (grown-up) Bash Street Kids!

Depending on how careful people want to be, might it be worth choosing somewhere else (although I've been wanting to go there since it was mentioned ages ago:))? The name has been up for over a day?
