Re Russian and greater area ( like greater herts) education,a friend of the family has done there undergrad course in 'greater' area and cannot get on to any course here in a 'decent' uni. It's just not been considered sufficient. I think reading is a contender with a foundation year.., And one other but cannot remember which. This is to do a SECOND UNDERGrAD course. I find that shocking. Dh has many really well educated Russian (and greater Russian) colleagues.
Qualification equivalence is a massive area needing a huge bit of attention. A giant database for converting scool leaving certificates and degree values is just crying out for its place in the sun.
Colleges have a giant book that looks thicker than the large print version of the Tokyo telephone directory which allows you to convert the various quals from the (sub-)continent/ continents.
I always tell the students we're the fourth emergency servise (sorry coastguard/mountain rescue).
When you suffer from
injuries/disease you need the health service,
crime - the police,
fires - the fire brigade,
ignorance - the education system.;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
PN, could it just be a reaction to cold or something else in your mouth, in which case a 'sensitive' toothpaste works wonders and gives immediate relief? Something like this one http://www.colgatesensitiveprorelief.co.uk/home
I use that. Even if there is a serious problem, that should give you some relief.
You could try ringing local dentists, at this time they should have an answerphone that will give you the number of an out of hours service. I know in Herts. each dental practice is required to provide a weekend service once a year on rota. I assume other counties offer something similar.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. There were no NHS dentists where I lived - probably for 100 miles.... so I signed up with the local dentist my dad used - and, as he made me feel at ease and I don't have problems as a rule, it's become overlooked as something to do when I moved.
I've also got Denplan, although I don't really understand it, I just keep paying.0 -

I would say ..... I know Denplan's a posh alert, it's £1/day
It's one of those things where if you've got it you will never use it .... but if you don't have it you'll get hit with some massive problem that costs millions.0 -

Shouldn't matter that you aren't registered. Nowadays you register with a dentist rather than with the NHS and most NHS dentists provide work privately that the NHS won't cover.
I thought Denplan is linked to your dentist, I don't think you can get your Denplan treatment at a different dentist - even if the other dentist also offers a Denplan scheme.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. De plan is a posh alert in the parts of England where the tooth thing is stereotypically true.0 -

If I'd known that I'd have probably cancelled it.0 -
Hi Pastures, call Denplan and speak to them about your predicament tomorrow. It's good news that you have it, you should be able to transfer to another dentist. DH and I also have Denplan, they are pretty good with queries. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
