I think he wants gear a bit like this. Thankfully he enjoys cleaning tack....me, I won't even use a breast strap or a martingale ...more to clean.0 -

Oh that is sad. I can understand the tears, there must be so much attachement to a home bred foal.
Can you say what was wrong with him?0 -

I am so sorry for your sister.
She acted as midwife for hte foal - and slept in the stables for a fortnight with a sleeping bag to make sure she was on hand when needed....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I could say, but I'm not entirely sure, and didn't want to act as a coronor when she was upset already.
It was something to do with one leg - he'd been confined to barracks for weeks in the hope that it might get better, but it didn't - it got worse. It wasn't a break, but I'm not sure precisely what the problem was....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

With mine it was the other way around. It was the only one I have ever sent away to a stud to foal and they didn't keep a close enough eye so that when she foaled, alone, and had trouble, (her uterus came out with the foal) she had no one to call for help and she died before they found her in the morning. I let her down and can never forgive myself for it.0 -

I think that's true of any death. My mother blamed herself for ages because our cat was very ill one morning, and my mother had had a lie-in (until 9am!) and so didn't call the vet earlier, and she thought it might have helped.
The "what-if" game is always a loser, LIR, and you didn't do anything wrong at all....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Those types of coin pearls, which are lovely, cost about £8 for a pair (wholesale). And gold-plated fittings aren't at all expensive.
Thinking again, I'm being unfair about that. The constituent parts are probably about a tenner, but a 3.5 x mark-up's not bad by jewellery standards at all....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

But a *lovely* temperament? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I'm sorry to hear that, but It's turned my world view upside down. I'd always had the idea that humans have trouble giving birth because we only started walking upright fairly recently, and I presumed animals just manage splendidly because they've had millions of years to adapt. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I'd have hand forged the top bits as that'd be the easiest way to get those (easier than trying to buy something).... and the pearl is probably bought in a pack of 10 or 20, or a string .... and then I'd have needed to get the wire.
As it is .... I've not got any of that stuff0
