It's easier to become a college lecturer or work in TEFL. College Lecturers need relevant quals and not necessarily a degree so if you've any IT experience you can find out more. As for TEFL, I've got mates who make a decent living teaching tourists how to speak English (or working abroad e.g China, teaching locals how to speak English). .

You don't need a PGCE to teach in an independent school. Lots of teachers working in private schools do have them, but not all.

Both my A level history teachers had degrees but no teaching qualifications.

My Bruv teaches English in South Korea, and loves it.

I did a basic (8 week) TEFL course when I was 18, and so obviously didn't have a degree.

Oh damn.... sudden toothache came on, right THIS second!!!

Weird. Never had it like that before.

    I suspect .... trouble.

What do I do? My dentist is 200 miles away.

This is a very precise sharp stabbing pain ... not a throbbing one. Violent.

There will be a local emergency dentist somewhere in your area. Maybe your local hospital reception can tell you which one it is or point you in the right direction?
Given the time, I'm not sure that there will be anybody available until tomorrow now, though.

    Wasn't it red shoes?

I have some red trainers, but I can reassure you that I have my boxer shorts on.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Hold an ice cube on your earlobe. Er....don''t give yourself frostbite- maybe a bag of frozen peas. Recommended by the American Dental Asociation. on a TV advert I saw in the US back in the 80s. Actually they used Alan Alda for the advert.:)

NHS direct or that 111 number and find the number of any pharmacies still open.

We're not allowed to prescribe medicines on MSE IIRC but there are specific medicines that target toothache very well but you mustn't take them for more than three days. (If there's a cavity, get a toothache solution/oil of cloves and dab it on with a cotton bud).

Register with a new dentist tomorrow for an emergency appointment. Or go to the nearest dental hospital. Bristol or Exeter may be your closest.

3 days/week that pays £15k would be good.

My son is looking for a homeopathic job. One where he gets a full salary but works one day a year.

    Proof, we want proof! :D

In our area it was 'red shoes'. I think it all has something to do with 'scarlet women' when the ladies of the night wore red to stand out to customers.

PN, could it just be a reaction to cold or something else in your mouth, in which case a 'sensitive' toothpaste works wonders and gives immediate relief? Something like this one http://www.colgatesensitiveprorelief.co.uk/home
