[dress modestly at work]
From experience, working with teenage boys would require a more modest dress style than an adult office where adult boys act like teenagers.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. You can tell that I basically move into a house and keep it the way it is (TM) because when I saw the price of that bath I thought there would a week of maidservants and donkey's milk thrown in at that price.
Well, I get to play maidservant and the rest of the joke is just too rude .....0 -
We have a rectangle bath and it is not comfortable. I haven't worked out why, I think it is not quite long enough and the back doesn't slope enough. It also takes ages to fill. Could do with being narrower and longer with more angled sides.
Ok, that's helpful. Funnily enough I thought 'silvercar will know something about this'.
My concern was whether there is somewhere to rest arms while reading, or slurping a lazy glass of wine (or water). Because the ends don't 'curve round you' . How long is yours? Width....we like to bath both at one end sometimes, as well as at opposite ends, so wider is better.0 -

Oooh, its dropped in price!
Fwiw, I'd still have that bath, if I had the money to burn, but for our en suite bathroom, not the main one (we 're. Doing the main one first.....). There would be something so amazing about it, and if I had that sort of money I could have a donkey in a maid costume too.0 -

Given there are only 10 of us including spouses it's not really something I could miss because I've seen a house get listed on rightmove. I havent seen it in person and would probably find something wrong with it if i did; I was more having a moan that nothing came up when we could look and as soon as it becomes inconvenient something pops up.
I suppose we could just pay off 3-4 months rent and buy it but that would irritate me. A lot.
I'm sorry - you have no need to justify yourself to me or any of the other NPs. I just got out of bed the wrong side this morning, and it hasn't got much better! Both my parents were brought up in Germany (my father was brought up in Prussia), and rather a lot of it has rubbed off on me. So, when we were looking for somewhere to live, we really looked at everything remotely feasible WITHOUT DELAY!!!!
Interestingly, my wife's grandfather was a war hero in WWI. I think they still have his Iron Cross somewhere. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Found one!
Only, does this smaller one in the same range look wider?

If you go back to the main bath page and look at these near to each other I think so!
I have only bought a bath once before. We have a rectangle bath and it is not comfortable. I haven't worked out why, I think it is not quite long enough and the back doesn't slope enough. It also takes ages to fill. Could do with being narrower and longer with more angled sides.
Another vote for having a bath with a sloping end, at least, whether the sides are sloping or not.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
PN, about your workmen ... don't you like steam engines, then?
If you are looking in Christchurch for a home, you are looking at one of the most expensive parts of the country. Well, I expect you know that. Can you compromise and look further inland?
I found this in Exeter, but I expect there are reasons why Exeter is NBG - like no work available. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-37298443.htmlNo reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I'd put in a bid I think. You're getting a lot of property there for London Surrey borders. Bit of a desert for pubs round there though. There's a weird tower nearby that you can see from the A3. Chris Tarrant's a neighbour (that info's probably out-of-date)!
There are at least three and possibly four pubs in Claygate I can't remember if the fourth one shut down. How many pubs do you need?! Hinchley Wood is the place without a pub I think.
From memory the tower thing is up for sale - I think it's a three bed house with an asking price of about £2 million!0 -
P
...
Actually had to leave as lost job there
Best job I ever had....
They got taken over/office closed.
And that's about 80-100 miles from here, so not really "a bit inland".... more "another complete county away". Although the trains are more convenient - I didn't know the trains round here only go to one place - making them impossible/ridiculous to use unless you're actually only ever going to London.
Oh - and Farm Hill was considered rough when I was there... it can't have got better. I also "don't do" stairs, especially 2 lots inside.
I'm not good at stairs, which I don't expect to get better.
It's got stairs in the kitchen too..... as somebody with a complete fear of fire, I see those stairs as [a] a passageway for the smells of all veggies to go into the bedrooms a handy chimney for any house fires.0
