My office is on the third (top) floor of a sixties building. This was the first day this year I have actually had the office window open

I was with one of the team when I noticed her office windows were being cleaned.

On rushing back in to my office I was too late... they had washed an open window and I had a puddle to mop up.

    .

When common sense says they'd push the window shut, surely?

Sorry I've not been around the last few days, I'm currently in the process of taking Lloyds to court to get the documents I need to.....errm.....take them to court. They've not replied to a SAR, or a 14 day notice to comply, making life far too frustrating at the moment!

    FC interiors? Wow!

This is my prime example of a single post that should have been two separate ones.

I had a good experience from a bank and it was Santander (shocked smiley).

On Easter Saturday I phone to ask them to update my isa to their new issue higher rate but rather than getting this actioned I got a call handler who booked a call back as they were too busy to actually take calls.

I missed the call back and when I finally got through their call queues again they had cut the rate. I put in a speculative 'complaint' stating if they had been available when they advertise for my first call I would have got the high rate and it seems they are going to honour that rate for me - worth 100 quid :)

    It doesn't actually surprise me.

We've just bagged 2.75% ISAs with HSBC for the year, over and above the 0.1% they were trying to give us, without actually having to move anything - worth over £820, tax free.

Not bad for 20 minutes work :)

I had no idea you could do dental work in advance....like have a tooth filled before it needs it so that when it does decay the filling is already in situ?
You asked about OH's new job the other night and I was going to answer and did prep the quote then laptop crashed...

He has always been into building/DIY etc and did his carpentry qualifications back in 2002. Basically, he has always wanted to do renovations but on his own properties. It's nothing new or ground breaking (quite the opposite :)) but getting the 1st one done will the hardest then we'll take it from there.

I would like one done up as a showcase to an interiors range that I would like to do one day (but not for a while...it's the emrgency plan) .

On the teeth - I gather that my chum had all his existing fillings and crowns replaced. Remember that my generation grew up before Fluoride or flossing were invented, so heavily filled teeth are rather common. These do deteriorate over time, and he decided to have a refurb job done at SA prices. Either that, or his SA dentist was simply desperate for a new Lexus.

I wish your OH all the best in his new job. Will he start off by renovating the house in Margate?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Was that like a veggie kebab? (Some people have to think about that one before they laugh).

    A la Jade Goody?

Probably not ... my reference was rude. Her input tended to be stupid.

I think she used it to refer to something rude...

Amazing police response today, it was impressive.

I went to court, only to be told that I was 3 days early - the case is listed for Monday. I came home, and 10 minutes later two policemen turned up. OH had his bike nicked, reported it online, and the policemen turned up at our door 22 minutes after he filed the report!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
