What's with the bomb in Boston? Hope nothing happens Wednesday in London as it is a high profile event.
I didn't know the marathon was on Wednesday - but then I don't know these things as a rule until afterwards.

On a more light-hearted note. About 10 months ago we bought a second hand TV - lcd but no stand and it would flicker horribly until warmed up. We paid 40 quid.

A few weeks ago it stopped working altogether, led lights up in standby mode but switch it on and no picture at all. Put it on ebay for spares or repair and it just sold for....£44?!
    I think....

    Brilliant.

I once bought a car for £200. Someone crashed into it and it was written off (panel damage only) and I was given £160 and told to keep or sell it as I saw fit. I sold it to a mate for £100.

The Boston thing is horrible. 2 dead being reported in the SMH. 90++ hurt. 2 bombs didn't go off apparently.

    Margaret Thatcher's funeral.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • I've become slightly less enamoured of the whole funeral thing for entirely selfish reasons, now that I've realised that I'm in the High Court on Wednesday, and that getting there and away again will probably be a nightmare.

OH is in the Court of Appeal tomorrow the whole day, in front of a full panel (3 Court of Appeal judges( so he's nervously over-ironed a shirt, made sure his waistcoat's clean and he knows where his collar studs are, and gone to bed early.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

But if you live there you've no choice in your situation. I had a friend who lost his job. No job = no insurance. Then it's difficult to find a new job that has insurance.
Anybody without insurance could be bankrupted by their injuries IIRC.:(

I think I read somewhere 63 % of bankruptcies in us were due to medical bills.

Of course, the same could be said here I guess, it's just it's not our personal debt....

Neurosis about a doctors appointment still a day away starting to creep in this morning.

Grrrr. And big dog is having ANOTHER phantom pregnancy poor girl. At least this will be her last one. Old girl has her rug off in the spring sun and is happily pottering around the back garden where there is far more grass than the fields ATM.
