:) Don't be shy, guinea pig girl, none of us bite. Ahem, I hope none of us bite, I'm mostly 'armless.:)

Nice to 'see' you again, pigpen, I was also wondering about your whereabouts, assumed the monsters had taken all your time.

Today, I took a long narrow mirror to the chazzer. I'd popped in yesterday to drop a donation bag off, and to ask if it was something they could sell, and it most definately was. They told me they always had people after mirrors like that, that they could sell it a dozen times over. Made me wish that I had more than one of them to donate.

I really like letting things go and there are very few occasions where I've ever come to regret parting with something, although I'd stewed over the possibility of regret for years in some cases.

I guess decluttering is like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets. Keep up the good work, troops. GQ xx

I ve lurked on here for a while and finally have something to say and contribute!!! all around my house are piles of stuff waiting to go some where - E bay/car boot/ cs!!

However, all plants seem to grow for me and I have a friend who keeps on giving me the expensive but lightweight magazines which I flick thro only the once!

I have discovered that some cs will sell plants and others not. some cs will sell good condition magazines others not. So what to do with them? I have found that some dentists/doctors will be happy to have both plants and Mags and that local old folks home are very happy to receive either. So dont throw out your plants catshark88 ring em up and see if they would like them.

Can I please come back and tell you all if some of my piles of stuff with good intentions attached actually get somewhere??
    Onward for a simpler life!:)

I'm inspired to get rid of the beautiful large glass pyrex dish I got a while back cheap from the charity shop. It's very lovely... but about 3" too wide for any standard oven, doesn't fit in my fridge at all and jams up my cupboard. Not sure why I kept it after finding it didn't fit in the oven :o

:) Today, I finally finished making a decision about a set of cutlery which I don't use and which lives in a box in an incessible drawer.

Ultimately, if I haven't used it in the past 15 years, I'm unlikely to use it in the future. So, better that it go to live with someone else via the chazzer.

It won't free up much space and I certainly don't see it in my travels around the kitchen but, somehow, it was nagging me from hiding.

D'you think inaminate objects can talk? If so, these were saying Let us outta here, woman!

Of course they can! And round here, they're clamouring to be released into the wild again... I sometimes think they seek refuge here from an early grave in the landfill, and mostly I do manage to rehome stuff fairly quickly, but then we'll hit a bottleneck moment and things get whirled off into backwaters. The trick is to keep clearing the backwaters, and not get sidetracked. I think I need to designate a specific time each week to check for log-jams in the backwaters...

Two jackets - one thick blue fleece which is too odd looking to wear out by itself (dorky empbroidery) but too thick to wear under an overcoat and a second fluffy jacket which I haven't worn in a couple of years.

Two bras - brand new, but the wires dug in and the silicone coated, rubber, non slip straps made me itch.

One pair of mittens - lovely, but I couldn't fit my chubby hand through the fake fur cuffs.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

I think what has helped me decide to do this is relative died last november and seen what is being dealt with.

they took thousands of photos don't know who half of them are.

A big house stuffed to the gills of stuff. That someone else has to do with.

Cheques that have never been cashed caught up in other paperwork.

    It just goes on.

Keep it up you are doing well

    Yours

Yippee - record deck gone! Only two items left to go so fingers crossed!
Not much flinging this week other than the usual rubbish. Did get DH to open & sort the plastic charity bags into sizes for the big bin & little bins though - so a small pile of the wrappers gone & cupboard looks tidier. Small thing but a help.

Mailed out to my brother today - yes, since the Post Office closed, the supermarket that took over takes parcels in on a Sunday

One hand knitted Aran cardigan - knitted by a vaguely related woman in Ireland for an Aunt, she passed it on to her brother (my late Dad) who liked it but passed it on to me.

I love it, but it's extremely thick and the sleeves are knitted for a gorilla. Passed it on to my brother - if he doesn't like it, then he can pass it on to our cousins. who are the children of the Aunt who originally received the cardigan in the first place.

and his Bed Buddy compression bag for his inflatable bed.

With a note card from the pared down Christmas present explaining why he's been sent a random cardigan in the post. :rotfl:

Have found a tote bag which has no internal pockets and the handles are too long - nope, going tomorrow.

A cheap Filofax knockoff which I was only using for cards - Oyster, library, bank, business, membership etc.

I took out the plastic pockets, tied them together with string and put them back in the drawer, the rest of the personal organiser (dividers, pen, ruler and coloured paper) can go.

Some adhesive screen protectors - couldn't get them to stick the the screen.

Keep up the good work, everyone.
