WHY was I keeping all the receipts from our holiday?
I still have all the receipts from our week in France last September! But I'm still awaiting the "And HOW much do you think you REALLY spent, that week you had in France?" conversation - which WILL happen, without fail. Mind you, he'll just think I lost most of the receipts...Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Bought some rechargeable batteries for my solar lights last week. Spent ages unscrewing the backs 'cos the screws were rusting. Felt so good to have done them & guess what! The blooming things STILL wont light up so I've unscrewed the backs again, taken out the almost new batteries & put the lights in a bag to take to the dump - should have taken DH's advice & done that in the first place. To add insult to injury I paid £10.00 for 4 batteries & found after I could have got 2 for a pound in poundland - (goes off muttering & stomping)Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Off on holiday adventuring soon but on return keen to get straight back in the swing of things. I have identified some items I would like to get shot of but they haven't yet reached a box/bag for further transportation but I have my beady eye on them. One of them is a vase (have too many for a girl with hayfever) but its too grimy to hand in in its current state.
Try putting a spoonful of soda bic. in vase and that will remove the grot. HTH0 -

Not very moneysaving, but I couldn't be bothered, don't have the patience and didn't have the time to put new batteries in all 20 of my solar lights in our garden.
B&M were doing 2 packs of 9 lights for £18 so bought those instead and dumped the other ones. TBF these new ones are far better than the last lot I had so happy enough :rotfl:Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -

im with british gas, second cheapest by the 28p a year for my area. no standing charge a day but i am on a 2 tier price thing, (dont particularily understand it all, was my best option at the time.)
i was with swalec, but they changed my meter form a token metre and i used £25 before 24 hours was up. and they insisted the meter was set right and nothing wrong with it. so as they didnt sort something out with the price as at the time i wasnt using much more than that a month before they changed the meter, i changed companies and british gas was my best option at the time and still seems to be.
sound like the bulb i got. no idea where im sposed to get a new one when that decided to not work any more.
my solar lights never seem to last long, wonder if they dont get charged properly cos of where they are. either that or its cos they were cheap when i bought them.
feeling like i want to go back to sleep atm, went to sleep early for a change and ended up waking up ot being able to go back to sleep around half 4.
decided to do a painting, didnt look like i wanted when i was done but i done one. first one in a couple of years. but i have been goo and put most of the stuff back away instead of leaving it all out just incase i do another one later lol.0 -
You should be able to get circular fluroescent tubes in most of the big hardware store. Easiest way would be to take the dead one with you. Their covers are nomally held on with 3 Phillips screws.
Today I go visit the family which will involve de-hoarding some stuff to their home which will free up a little space from my flat.
Actaully, must get a wriggle on, finish this cuppa, wash up and get the recycling out before I leave. I have also chucked a used-up biro and am unravelling an unwanted handkinit jumper for the yarn. I have a project in mind for that later.
Keep on keeping on, my lovelies.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Not much de-hoarding here for the past two days as I have a poorly little one clinging to me like a limpet. He is asleep at the moment so I may go and empty the cupboard I want to sand and paint to be used as a new TV unit.
I do have charity folks coming on Tuesday to collect the snooker table so I'm looking forward to seeing it go. Hopefully I will be able to get the carpet laid on Wednesday then change the rooms over.
The bedrooms are still clear and I was able to flit around and vacuum them this morning with little effort and less time. I'm a bit cross at the
junk which was accumulated and is still there as it takes so much from living. I'm more focused than ever to sort it all.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Outs today were:- Solar Lights & an old carpet sweeper & a bag of apples to a neighbour. Cleared part of my little veg plot & found that the onions I thought had 'gone over' were fine so I've got a little stash of homegrown onions (Poundland sets)
Ins: 1 paperback by one of my favourite authors - but will read & pass on as I don't tend to keep books once I've read them & some Curly Kale & Potatoes in echange for the apples..
Still need to photograph 'stuff' for fleabay & prelurved - DH will be out early tomorrow morning so will try to get it done then.
Have a good weekend lovelies!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
