Book I finished yesterday is going. A dress of DD's - tried to put it on this morning and it is suddenly an inch too short.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Just a quick, and very late-to-the-party delurk, but could this be your food hoarders programme?
It'll make you watch an advert first, but the whole programme seems to be there.
Re-lurks - you ain't seen me, right?
Gosh, I must finish watching this later - I certainly have the beginnings of the disorder as I am a food shopper for comfort. BUT when I'm in charge we hardly have gone-off stuff kicking about and most gets processed and eaten. My excuse is that we live in the middle of nowhere and I have a long drive to get to the shops. On the other hand I wondered if I got some food-rationing fear from my mum and gran who lived through the war? Joining the Grocery Challenge on here did help over the last 2 months, highly recommended!
On the non-food front - another drawer emptied and sorted and no moths :T. What do I learn from this - put anti-moth stuff in EACH drawer, girl....:pFirst they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
Box of baby stuff taken over to DD1's yesterday and I have a binbag ready to go to her too.. She is slowly getting everything dumped back over there
Recycling flung and bins emptied.
OH using up the 'best before' pancake mix in the kitchen.. small amount of cupboard space reclaimed!
I am sending him out in the garden next to declutter a mound of mud so I can declutter a shed.. we have 3 but 1 is full of absolute rubbish so both it and the shed are going. It is to be a BBQ space I think.. and I may do a shed shuffle with the remaining 2.. I'm sure we have LOTS in them which can head to the tip!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
spent yesterday attacking the garden. OH chopped our dead tree into more manageable logs. We'll dry the wood out and use it as fuel for the fire pit.
We then attacked the end wall which was covered in some kind of ivy tree and another bushy plant. Filled 20+ garden waste bags. Looks like the root balls are holding the wall up in place so am reticent to cut much more back at the mo until we've made arrangements to replace the wall.
Today.. I am physically broken, so am on light duties. Eating lots of frogs.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Decluttered all the junk mail that was in a pile waiting to go. Pair of lemon () trousers from the back of DH wardrobe to CS. To be fair they did still fit him but he looked like medallion man - what was he thinking when he bought them........oops I think I bought them for him :rotfl:
Load of insurance paperwork sorted into filing wallets. I load of washing done & on the line outside& dry stuff folded so now off to put it away.
Yes Mum - I hear you 'dont put it down, put it away'Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Lemon trousers. Oh dear. What fabric are they made of? I only ask because I've died some skirts with Dylon machine wash dyes and they came up brilliantly (be sure to wash them first and put the dye in while the trousers are still damp.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. whitewing you'll be glad to know that I've deposited my bags at the charity shop :A
Am re-organising the kitchen today. Not parted with much, but it looks a lot less cluttered now that I'm making better use of cupboard space and can get more stuff off of the counter and out of sight.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

Got off my backside and boosted my clubcard vouchers for clothes for DD, so the paper vouchers are being shredded along with the paper vouchers from the 2 year nat geographic magazine subscription from earlier in the year. Until I checked, they'd all been hanging around my cupboard.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. hello everyone, I rarely post but have been lurking on and off for a while and find this thread inspiring - thank you all.
the last few days I have suddenly really wanted to declutter rather than felt I should - if that makes sense? Filled several bags of paper and cardboard recycling some of it containing old greetings cards which I have hoarded for years - big deal to let them go.
I have also got a newly organised chest of drawers - these contain.... well me drawers and things for me chest ha ha. I can now open the drawers and close them easily, nothing gets caught and disappears in the mysterious black hole at the back. I even have a winter drawer and a summer one get me! I love it so much I keep opening it to just look. I didn't know what to do with a large quantity of too small knickers, oh my did I really wear some of them pre-children!!! Remembered our council do textile recycling so I can anonymously bag 'em up and get rid of on recycling day.
