 Take care in that cupboard, PPL!

Attach a rope to the pooter so you can find your way out/ tow the pooter to your position to type for help.

I'm listening to short viddy on the web then I'm outta here. We too have the strange yellowness outside and I want to get out there again to photosynthesise. I was out in shirtsleeves earlier and was warm enough (memo to self; wear troosers as well next time).

I've been gently adding several small things to the c.s. bag. It's amazing to me; I think there isn't that much more to go, but then you can usually find a few bits and pieces. I guess it's because our homes and lives aren't static, there's always things coming and going.

I have an added incentive this weekend; Mum is coming to visit for the day on Tues. We'll be in and out of my little flat as she's shopping for a wedding outfit, but she'll still need to be able to sit down once she's here, and at the moment, that would be a tad problematic (glances guiltily over shoulder at the sofa).

  • I have The Best Sheets in my upstairs cupboard at the moment - fine linen, with drawn-thread work and hand-crocheted edges. Unfortunately, they are for a small double, so they don't fit any of our beds and they are too tiny to make a duvet cover unless we have a seam down the centre. They've been in Mum's cupboard for donkey's years and I had to have them because she couldn't bear to give them to the charity shop.

I need to stop having other people's clutter unless I can actually use it...
  • They are in the charity bag. Having a banana and a cuppa as a reward.

yay PQ you're way ahead of me, I know I couldn't have done it - hopefully I can use your example when the time comes to go through my "linen cupboard" (set of drawers so overstuffed I can't open 2 of them:o)
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)

    Hi all!

I'm gradually coming to the end of my annual winter declutter. I do one in winter and one during the summer holidays, when I'm off work (I'm a school teacher). The one in the summer was massive, so there actually wasn't much to do this time around. But I'm so very busy during term term, that my flat very quickly gets into a bit of a state. ;)

Anyway, today I have finally finished my biggest project of the past year. My DVD collection was getting out of control, it was dominating an entire wall in my living room. So I took all the discs out of the boxes, and put them into thin plastic wallets, and am now storing them in 2 decorative boxes under the TV.
And now today, I have finally thrown out the last of the empty DVD boxes!
I'd done the bulk of the project during the summer, but said I'd keep the boxes until Christmas, in case I didn't like the new arrangement, but I've LOVED IT.
Today, lugging the heavy bin bags of DVD cases out to the bins just reminded me how much lighter I feel, and how much emptier my living room is!
It's also actually easier to find the DVDs I want. They are separated by type, and then in alphabetical order within their genre, so it's super easy to find what I want.
    A recommended organisation project!

:) Back from the allotmentino plus a charity shop browslette and a visit to Liddly (bought nowt in either place, there was nothing bargainous enough). Spent £1 on milk and £1 on fruit and veg and that's it.

Am breaking up what was once a strawberry bed before it got overtaken by couch grass, misc other grasses, docks and mallows. It's a painstaking process of levering the strawbs out of the horrors and getting the horrors separated into vegetation and non-vegetation (mainly nails, glass shards, bits of plastic).

I have created two new strawberry beds and have started potting on the plantlets. These are promised to pals and will get the stash of too-small flowerpots out of the lottie shed, plus reduce the compost mountain. I have potted on 16 and will do some more tomorrow.

:T And I went to the tip with the concrete lump, the nearly-whole brick and a much smaller chunk of brick which I turned up whilst working today. Feelin' good. Especially as I was able to cruise past the queues of cars on the old pushbike..........:rotfl:

Am currently melting candlewax, which is a project which frees up various containers, one yesterday and one today. Today's is recyclable at Mum's town but not my city - it originally came from her house and will go back there on Tues.

As part of my new habit, found a political party newsletter in my letterbox when I came in. Gave it the consideration it deserved (2 mins - they've underwhelmed me) and it's now in the recycling.

Righty, time to start the tea................and then I can recycle another tin, woop-woop.;)

  • Sounds like a successful afternoon GQ?

I didn't get to the cupboard, I intended to just clean the windows but ended up doing a proper decent clean of the frames, tracks and all so spent nearly 3 hours doing that over two sets of patio doors....they really were minging....:(

Cupboard is on the hit list for tomorrow.....

The only bonus of nearly 3 hours of hard labour is that I have de-hoarded over 600 calories so can de-hoard a bit more food to ensure balance....:rotfl:

    1 leverarch folder gone.

1 plastic bottle dropped into aunt's recycling on the way home.

Need to do a big sort out of business receipts wtc. I think this is a job that I am going to have to make into a small daily task as my working practices have changed.

There is a bit more clear space in the living room than there was at the beginning of the month.

I could also do with going through my stationery cupboard before the end of the month. I reckon if I am ruthless, I could free up a shelf.

Very quick sort of knicker drawer before going off to work in a min.....6 pairs in bin, plus 3 old perfume bottles in there and 2 old essential oil bottles...as no smell left in any of them.

Quite pleased, totally unplanned, and took less than 3 mins.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

1 slanket and 2 baby beakers dehoarded.. and OH took boxes to the tip.

I have had cold/mouth infection/Christmas/birthday/drama for the last few weeks so the debogging of my house was paused.. I also had a minor meltdown over the lack of help.. I am permanently exhausted and in pain at the moment so not getting much done. I have made over £600 on ebeast too.. only emptied a small carrier but it is stuff gone and the money is my car fund .. I have 2 years to save £6000 to replace the car when the current lease expires. I am hoping to keep most of it in the ISA and put away a bit each month to my savings account for Christmas/birthdays etc.. I have that sorted in my head..

I have a new home lined up for my bunny when his new hutch is ready. I am looking to rid myself of the treadle sewing machine and the huge rocking horse too.. I am so sick of the sight of them I need the space more than dead items.. I have a lady to email re ridding myself of a glass cabinet too. I WILL see progress in here!
