Oh it was nothing - posted for some advice having recieved a toy that stunk of smoke from eBay. It turned into a big row about how acceptable it is for people to recieve smoky items...not what I was expecting. Think I'll hide here for a bit"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0

I'm very selective about where I post on here, and not surprisingly, many thread regulars from one thread pop up on others. There aren't many threads that are pleasant and safe. This one, no buying toiletries, 5 OS Pleasures and the Toughies thread, as well as a couple of the Diaries are stand-outs.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Indeed, I'll remember that.
Sorry, no decluttering going on here really. Furious at the husband - he's invited some of his friends over for dinner tomorrow night after I asked him not to, I wanted us to all go out for a pub lunch. This will mean I'll be panicing about the state of the house (these friends are quite judgey), he'll spend loads of money on food, get stressed while cooking it and the whole thing will not be very enjoyable and NOT how I'd like to spend my weekend. But hey ho.
I've never heard of carpet moths!"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -

He invited them, he can clean the house and do the cooking, whilst you go out for a pub lunch with some girlfriends :rotfl:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Sometimes the things you least look forward to are the best!
Don't waste your energy on killing your husband - although chucking a rug or a blanket over something you want to hide from view can be an effective pre-dehoarding strategy, it helps if the thing that you're trying to conceal is not bleeding....
Do what you can in timed bursts. Set an alarm for 15 minutes and do a tidy/clean challenge, then another 15 minutes in something else, and so on until you collapse. Anything you manage to get done is GOOD ENOUGH for this Easter.
I attemoted the work cupboard today. It has been in its current home since the New Year. I could have sworn it only had stuff I need in it, yet I managed to shred a huge pile, archived a few more piles and have more or less reorganised it (including 2 new storage boxes). It took a lot longer than I had expected - it even overran into The Voice. I am too tired to do the last 5% of the job, but think I'll be pleased with it tomorrow.
Clothes have been out on the line today so they need packing away too. Life is constant laundry for some reason, even though we tend to wear casual stuff twice before washing.
Quite enjoying the flylady emails although I can't say that I actually follow them yet. It amuses me how 'because you're worth it' they are, it can be a little too positive for me, but there are some good ideas within it.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Sounds lovely, now if only I had some girlfriends to call on...:oDon't waste your energy on killing your husband - although chucking a rug or a blanket over something you want to hide from view can be an effective pre-dehoarding strategy, it helps if the thing that you're trying to conceal is not bleeding....

That's a good idea, I like the 15 minute burst idea. Still think I'll leave the majority of the work to him since they are his friends. One of them in particular is the type to look under a rug or blanket and gossip about what she sees.
Anyway, happy easter everybody"Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
Ugh.
Just done something stupid.
Told someone - sort of - how much I liked him. Almost.
I don't think he quite realised. I'm not going to spell it out to him because I don't think I could handle the rejection. Or he did and is politely remaining oblivious.
Argh.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
It probably wasn't as bad as you think Jojo.... If he didn't stammer and do a runner, or blush and hastily change the subject, those are positives. The realisation may creep in to his brain after a while that you may have meant something. I would carry on as normal, unless you really feel this was your one shot at saying something. A good friendship is of value too.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage."
