Agree 100% Sasparillo.
There are so many companies now that are no problem when there is no problem, but when there is a problem they seem incapable, or unwilling, to put things right. Before this I was with Three for many years, in fact I only changed to T-Mobile because of the very poor signal in my house. I found that Three’s customer service people were generally OK. You’d be on the ‘phone for at least half an hour, but usually got a result.
Going back to the previous millennium I was with Cellnet / O2 and, in my experience, they definitely fell into the ‘no problem until you have a problem’ category.
With T-Mobile the lack of an email contact is clearly outrageous and the ‘just make one up’ attitude is even worse. However, I have a cunning plan to contact them which I’ll share with everyone if it works for me.0 -
Thanks for the lengthy info... I was under the impression that the free 250MB was for internet browsing only and did not allow/include downloading stuff... I also assumed from their description that the additional 250MB 'basic internet' was required to allow for downloading etc.
I think you may be correct though that basically I've added the 250mb internet option that was given for free anyway... and paying for it.
I can untick the 250mb option listed in 'my current services' section but cannot determine if that'll then stop all internet access, any idea?

Amazingly I sorted this one out on the ‘phone. So try calling 150 and ask if you are getting 250+250gb of internet, the answer should be ‘no’, because apparently there is no 500gb option, the next step up is 750gb.
When I called I was told that by selecting 250gb from the internet menu, I was in fact paying for the ‘free’ internet and was given a reduction of £2 off my next bill. I was told the regular bills would drop to £8 per month, but I see that the plan information on ‘My T-Mobile’ still shows £10 per month, so who knows?
Taking just the basic, supposedly, £8 deal also leads to 250gb internet showing on the plan details, so if you uncheck the 250 internet box yourself, this may switch off all internet, but then again who knows?
The whole thing seems designed to be as complicated and unclear as possible and you never get the same answer twice from customer services. It’s amazing how often in life these special offers and ‘free’ deals, which are supposed to generate good will, often have exactly the opposite effect.
Best of luck in getting it changed – let us know how you get on.0 -
It's 'Mb', not 'gb'0

Absolutely correct. My apologies for a slip of the pen there. Mind you, 250gb a month would be handy.
PS You got that correction in pretty smart-ish after I had posted my wassname. Do you sit up all night for just such an opportunity, or have the pubs just shut where you live? Sadly they have just shut here.0 -
When I took out my contract in early Feb I bought it via TCB and it shows £50 cashback is pending and should be paid to me, it should have been £25 so I might just wait until I get paid that cashback before tinkering.
On my Tmob plan is does not mention any free 250MB data at all, only my 250MB extra that shows as costing £2.50.
As you say, it's very unclear what you're signing up for.
Other than that I'm happy with the service from TMobile, reception has been far better in my area than Tesco (O2) ever was, including in towns etc

I’m in exactly the same boat – or should that be leaky vessel? We have two contracts, one with the extra 250MB and one the ‘bog standard’ £8 deal. In ‘My T-Mobile’ both look the same and both cost £10.01. Both have the same, one mention of a (paid for) 250MB.
Reception was my only reason for changing to T-Mobile. Now I no longer have to hang out of a bedroom window to make a call, but I do have to stay up all night to use up my text allowance. (In reality, I’ve sent one text in two months.)
It’s just a pity that the overcharging and non-existent ‘customer service’ have taken the shine off the whole thing.0 -

To me it’s the acid test of any company. There will always be problems – or ‘issues’ as they are now called. It’s what a company does to correct these ‘issues’ that counts.
Personally I always vote with my feet / wallet.
Get good service... continue to use the company and tell friends and colleagues how they put the situation right.
Get bad service... you can guess the rest.0
