Normally with snails, I would scoop em up into a plant pot and bung em over the wall into the farmers field, to check that if they were homing snails, I experimented and tippexed a couple of shells, and hey ho just spotted them and their extended family munching my garden. Re- Cat's using garden as a toilet.

As a cat lover- i have attracted most of the local cats to my garden, and, yes, they like to "mark" their territory. The simple idea of putting sticks into any bare ground seems to work. No cat likes to get it's bottom spiked so they go elsewhere to poop. I do this when i have just planted something too, it saves it getting dug up by cats.
