This is not another dig at your DH and i'm afraid i only read the first 3 pages of your post but can you take your Husband to the CAB with you and sit down and discuss the matter. Maybe coming face to face with some one independant will make him realise he has to support his family. Surley helping out will make the kids so much happier too. I could never imagine leaving my wife in this mess.

    I hope everything works out.

PS i'll buy his fishing gear if you want to confiscate it :rotfl:

Oh Pink! How fabulous - you've come so far already. So that's an extra £400 a month? How about detailing the debts again and the monthly payments etc as well as your now extra spare money? Then perhaps we could help with what to pay off where etc.
Holidaywise= what about spending money? Have you said he'll have to provide it? Might be worth mentioning it. meanwhile, get yourself onto the freebies board, read up about Pigsback and then start clicking - can get boots vouchers, which will help pay for all the holiday stuff like sunscreen etc.

I think you are sounding much better and stronger and hope to see you as a regular on the boards :)

not trying to spoil the party but why would your boss want to take out a 10k loan in his name and give it to you ?

Whats he want in return ?

Don't think i would be very happy if my wife was having 10k off here boss as i would suspect there was more to this than meets the eye.

Not that i am suggesting this but if i was to give some lady 10k i would want some favours off her towards paying the debt.

Think this is very dangerous and certainly would be the end of your marriage if your husband finds out. He will be the one kicking you out as i know i would.

I think that these credits are the £10.55 per week Child tax credits that everyone earning under (not sure exactly, used to be £50-odd K per year) with children is entitled to.

Yes under £58,000 gross household income I believe or £66,000 if you have a child under 1. But the family element of (roughly) £10 a week starts going down around the £50K mark. No idea how much you would be on gross if you have a joint net income of over £4,500 a month.

You don't appear to be claiming Child Benefit, pink-bubblegum. Is there a reason for this as it is not means tested.

I am very inclined to agree with this, why would your boss pay off 10k of your debt? What would he want in return  I just dont get it but it doesnt really sound on to me either.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...

  • Hi everyone, i do claim child benefit but this goes straight to a different account(savings) which i am going to use to pay off some of the debt. As for the boss thing I have been at this company for 18 years. My boss has helped me out financially in the past, helping to buy a car, house improvments ect he wants nothing in return just trustworthy staff as the company handles large amounts of cash and so therefore when he gets staff he can trust he wants to keep them. I did leave when I had DS but they traced me via my mother in law to ask me to come back, He does this for all the staff but i am the longest member and the only women in a small office of 15 and so do tend to be favoured more when it comes to payrises ect. OH would not say anything id he knew he trusts me and my boss also we have a 6 monthly evening out which OH always comes to and the boss pays for everything. As i said before i have a brill boss and for that i am truelly thankfull. How many bosses do you see at your wedding lol, mine came. As the OH he is and can be a total !!!! but he must have some good points or i woundnt of married him but at the moment i cannot find them because of the situation that i am in. As for spending money for holiday we have put half each.
