Appealing the Bedroom Tax
Comments
-
I wish there were 1 bedroom property's in my area but the housing association have said there aren't. I cannot afford to go into private lets as cannot afford deposit and one months rent in advance! Plus i cannot afford to move. I will stay here and cut back. Cannot have lodger due to my erratic behaviour and such a small house.
My son is in foster care. If they say he can start to stay with me then i will appeal.
I understand it has to be done. But i do hate people attacking other people.0 -
I said that you don't need a separate bedroom to accommodate oxygen.
Many of us whose partners are severely disabled wouldn't think of sleeping separately from them specifically because of the need for caring for them during the night; not much use snoring in the "spare" bedroom when you're needed next door.
That suits you and Krisscross but it dosnt suit all though, most disabled people have no need of a seperate bedrooms or a overnight carer thought, its a straw man argumant made by those that are totally against any benefit changes at all and who are totally unable to listen to reason.0 -

i totally understand your point of view.

I agree.
The first applications for Judicial Review have been comprehensively dismissed.
See R (otao Buckley and ors) v Sheffield City Council [2013] EWHC 512 (Admin) decision handed down last week.
As I understand it the application was concerned with council tax not the bedroom tax, and the defeated challenge was on failure to consult.0 -

and would you be so compliant if your needs werent being met>
you are more than happy to see others lose, because your needs are being met.
is it so diffivult to put yourself into someone elses position?0 -

I think you need to re-read AB's post sunnyone. The argument you use of not listening to reason is a two way street.
Isn't some form of compromise usually a way forward? The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0 -

Can you even remember my views on the bedroom tax?
No you cant because you cant be objective, I can and not every so called disabled person needs extra rooms etc. unless someone with acne needs to be exempt from benefit reforms because they see themselves as a minority.0 -

Can I please ask Sunnyone and Nanny that this does not degenerate into a personal arguement AGAIN many thanks in advance.
Going back to the original point of the thread is that many people will have grounds for appeal because of their disability.
For me it isn't a competition about who is the most disabled and everyone copes in different ways. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0
