I dont use a washing up bowl, I dont like them, but I do have a sink and a half sink, which is handy for empying any dregs, we also have a butler sink in the utility room which is very handy for hand washing, or bathing little dog :D

OH just making toasted samaches :D then I am off for a hot bath, feel a bit rotten, so hope the heat will help.

    Have good afternoons all x

    Morning all
Glad the twins are doing well Halight.
Hugs to Molly, LW & those in pain.
We have a roast most Sundays, hubby loves it & I can cook it with my eyes shut.
So far today I've done cooked breakfast at silly o'clock for hubby whilst he watched the GP, made soup for my lunches, piri piri chicken for hubby's lunches next week, burger in a bun for hubby when he came in from the garden and biscuits for my team at work. Roast dinner will be ready around 5ish.
I have a washing up bowl, but keep it on top of the cupboard, I don't use it often.
Next weeks clothes are ironed and hanging in the wardrobe ready, there are pots of compost warming on top of the fish tank so hubby can plant more seeds.
I finished the blanket in red & yellow requested by DGD, I've started one in cream, beige & light brown, which is slightly less migraine inducing!
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me asking but could I join in on your thread. I am very new to this site but have posted on another thread I have been reading for a while, and found them very friendly and helpful. I have also being spying in on this thread for a while - you all seem so friendly and positive with whatever life throws at you I would like to throw my hat in the ring, as I am new to this and OS i'm sure I will be learning alot more than I'm teaching, the penny watching has started since having my little girl 6 months ago and, have decided that I would like to try and be a stay at home mum -not easy to loose a full time wage but will give it my best shot.
    Thanks in advance

    Jx

Hi Lottiesmum pull up a chair and make yourself at home.:o You'll be made very welcome here; a few of us are totally bonkers, but don't let that put you off.:D

Mr LW has been fed, and is now playing "Conflict: Desert Storm" on the PS2 while I get the household spreadsheets up to date. (Where's the Rolleyes Smilie when I need it??):D

Well shopping has been bought and put away. All is well. I just want to make it known that MrJudi is not diabetic. He had a full medical not so long back but he's not very good on running on empty and lets face it, no one should be running on empty anyway.

I too have a sink and a half sink but never had the problem of emptying any dregs before i had my half sink. Even when cooking i use any excess vegetable water to make the gravy (every little adds to the nutrition of a meal). Very little is thrown down my sink.

Hi Lottiesmum, welcome to the Daily thread. Its nice to have you on board.

I need to vacuum downstairs but MrJudi has decided to have a nap so it will have to wait. I'm in no rush. I'll go and sort the bin bags out for the bin men in the morning (and see if i can squash 2 bags into 1 as we are only allowed 3 bin bags per household and ive got 4).

Hope your afternoon is going well.

    Washing up bowls eh?

I don't like them (it's like having to clean two sinks instead of the one, what's the point?!), OH likes to have them. I think it's just from what we grew up with having. I'd own one to use for carrying water about the house, like my mum has one and uses it when washing the porch floor and suchlike, but I wouldn't use it in the sink for washing dishes.

He won that argument when we moved into this flat though, as the kitchen sink had no plug! So I had to allow a washing up bowl in the sink so that there was something to hold the water! And yes, we could've got a plug, but the bowl was much easier to find and likely cheaper too given it was from the 99p shop.

And rubber gloves? He hasn't expressed any desire to wear them to wash up. I prefer to wear them, but also if I washed up more than once in a blue moon I'd have to wear them as the skin on my hands gets very dry and irritated from certain things and contact with detergent is one of them. I say I'm allergic to washing dishes ;).

On the question of washing up bowls I have and use one, as to why, I have no solid reason perhaps it is as CupOfChai says its just what you grow up with, my mum always and still does have a bowl. I may have to ponder this question a little longer (as you will soon see LameWolf I myself am sometimes considered by my nearest and dearest a little bonkers - so hopefully will fit in well)

I am the dishwasher in my house. I did have a dishwasher but when i saw how much my electricity bill shot up after the first quarter i asked hubby to unplumb it.

In all fairness, 'youngest' always washes his stuff up and after i cook a meal he usually washes a few pots up along with his plate. Since theres only the three of us theres and most of our meals are somewhat 'basic', theres not really that much washing up involved.
