I have an orange contract for a Samsung galaxy S3, but I want to buy an iphone 5 and run it on my current tariff?
Is this possible or do I need to contact orange and change my tariff?

When we went from Android to iPhone with Orange in September, I think I had to get a new tariff - I'd call them to be safe before you rack up any bills?
PS Why do want to change - we have both phones in our house - gimme the S3 anyday!0 -
Why would you move to an inferior phone?0

Inferior in what way?
I have an iPhone 4S and wouldn't go near an Android or Windows phone with anyones....I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
I prefer the Iphone. To be honest I dont want to get into an apple vs android debate, just want the info on contracts0

No you don't, they won't know and iPhones are not put on iPhone tarrifs when discounts are applied so plenty aren't on iPhone tarrifs. It is only blackberrys that must be on a handset specific tarrif to get the bolt on for bbm.0

You don't need an iPhone-specific tariff. Their raison d'être is purely to rip off iPhone owners who tend to be willing to pay more. I have an iPhone 5 and pay Orange £9/month for 325 minutes, 150 texts, 800MB of data and unlimited calls to Orange mobiles.0

Any tariff will be fine, obviously not a blackberry one though. Visual voicemail will not work but that is only supported on the O2 network if memory serves me right.0

No you won't need a different tariff.
I think you will need a new sim though - the iPhone needs a nano sim ... pop into a Vodafone shop or ring them and they should sort it out for you free.0 -

Orange iPhone tarrifs are the same plan and price as non iPhone tarrifs, they just say iPhone in the tarrif name.0
