Do I really need an Iphone compatible tariff?

I have an orange contract for a Samsung galaxy S3, but I want to buy an iphone 5 and run it on my current tariff? Is this possible or do I need to contact orange and change my tariff?

That seems to be true. Previously iPhone tariffs were more expensive for the same allowances. This anomaly seems to have finished now.
