Lavertons website - real or not?

Just to update, I have not received my item, it's now 10 days since I purchased it using bank transfer. I have not had any response from Lavertons via email and I have now reported Lavertons to my bank, Barclays, who are now going to investigate.
So anyone reading this, do NOT make any purchases on Lavertons. You will be throwing your money away to fraudsters!0 -

You might also log it with http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ If it is definitely fraudulent, there may be multiple reports which eventually might result in the site being taken down, which at least prevents others getting done. On the Kitchenarts thread someone said http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=60092495&postcount=141 that the fraud people have to allow 28 days for non-delivery then another 28 days for non-refund before anything gets done.0 -
I will report it to action fraud.police thanks. I'm also going to leave some warning notices on other websites.0

I just found this website where several users have recently been ripped off by Lavertons, all paying by bank transfer and none receiving the goods.

I got my money back for my order as i paid through Paypal. Paypal told me they just hadn't bothered to claim the money from their account and i was refunded. I would never have paid by bank transfer.0

That pretty well confirms it. It seems to have been going on sporadically since last August, with a sudden peak this month. Probably because previously they had PayPal (who would have taken the loss and refunded buyers) and presumably more recently if PayPal dumped 'Lavertons', people who've paid by bank transfer have taken the pain directly, hence more complaints.0 -

Yes, I imagine they open up the website every now and again, grab as much money as possible before being closed down. Thanks to your original post any people who type Lavertons into google will immediately see the warning. At the moment it comes up 3rd on the google listing! So well done for spotting it in the first place.
I have now reported it to the police at action fraud, google, and Barclays, as well as leaving a few comments at various sites.
I'm off to re-buy the original item from Amazon, it's a small consolation for the original loss.:)0 -
If anyone has been scammed online then please report it to
www DOT actionfraud DOT police DOT uk (apparently I can't post links as I am a new user)
I found this thread after getting halfway through the checkout process at lavertons and getting suspicious that they only accepted bank transfers as payment.
I called actionfraud.police but because I hadn't actually completed a transaction, I couldn't report it fully. The guy on the phone was really helpful and sent the info to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau and also suggested that I posted here to let people know that they can report fraud on their website. If enough people file reports then it makes it easier to do something about illegitimate websites.0 -
Sadly it would appear that I too have been scammed by these crooks to the tune of £500.00. I placed an order on Sunday and regrettably paid by bank transfer. I have been following this thread with horror all week and despite the company updating my order status accordingly and replying promptly to the various emails I sent them it has now all gone very quiet. The last email I received was on Tuesday advising me that my order had been despatched to their delivery agent and after numerous emails from me since have not heard a thing. I could kick myself for being so stupid - Like others I was seduced by the £80.00 saving compared to other retailers. I have learnt a very harsh lesson and am now £500.00 worse off with nothing to show for it. I will be reporting these vile creatures to whoever will listen in the hope that others are spared the same ordeal.0

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. It really is shocking that someone can get away with this so easily. I have reported Lavertons to http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/, I suggest you do the same.0
