Knew I was in trouble when timed out of MSE when posting ..... Strangely therapeutic though - and from just enjoying the occasional Mr T bargain I now am coming around to the idea of needing to get all I can from them - shame I don't live closer
And a very good need to have too!“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Basically paint is paint and you generally get what you pay for (apart from the so called designer ranges) For most companies white paint is a loss leader but there are lots of myths and half truths involved when someone swears that brand x is better than brand y, easier to apply, better coverage , thicker etc. It's very subjective and why lots of brands still exist.
To be fair, and I may be daft, but I wont use anything else on ceilings except dulux (hate painting ceilings!)“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

fairclaire wrote: »I only tried the minis in an express so limited stock. Only 2 of the reds were on 2 for £3. I bought the JC Shiraz. Im sure there will be more 2 for £3 in the bigger stores. I was hoping to get BH merlot, but my express doesn't stock it
Good choice fairclaire
If I done my work right this morning then these are the Red Mini's that are part of the 2 for £3 (no Finest alas)
Vega Roja Rioja £1.99
Gallo Cabernet Sauvignon £1.99
J P Chenet Merlot £2.54
Hardys Stamp Shiraz Cabernet £1.98
Blossom Hill Merlot £2.29
Jacobs Creek Shiraz Cabernet £2.39
The J.P Chenet is the best to go for moneywise but the B.H Merlot and J.C Shiraz Cab are much better wines (imho)

Now I have to buy paint:o ( I always used to make my own at work) I buy Dulux for ceilings but always buy it from places like Wilkinsons. It's defo not the same quality though as it used to be when ICI made it. Now made by Akzo Nobel I think who inherited the trade mark when ICI folded.Awaiting a new sig0 -

On the subject of paint - has anyone had any success on here with the white dulux woodwork paint turning yellow business?
Me and OH painted all upstairs, stairs, landing and hallway in Feb 2011. By end of sept I noticed it was getting discoloured - hubby said its due to EU regs - so let it go - but then it has got really bad. It was only last year I discovered that there was a particular problem with dulux but was too ill to do anything then. Some peeps mentioned might be possible.
So just remembering to call but if anyone else done it would be useful to know. We would find it hard to repaint ourselves at present (husband had prolapsed disc 2011/12 and still bad) and I still haven't got the stamina for that - so don't know if we could claim for decorator costs as well in addition to paint costs.0
