Dave, did you do William Hill Bingo? I did it early on but I've done that many I've forgotten the individual criteria for getting out with cash. Can't remember if there was a wagering requirement to play the bonus value so many times before withdrawing cash?Awaiting a new sig0

Interesting but challenging...used to make my brain hurt a lot at times:rotfl:
When DD was young she used to boast to friendS that her Dad knows everything because he's a SCIENTIST!:rotfl::rotfl: (Project Scientist was my job title on business cards)
Sounds just like me as a kid, I told everyone my dad built ships.
Well he did in a way, at first he sanded and painted the outside (red leader), he done a bit of welding, then when work dried up a bit they went into refurbishing the interior of ships so he was doing that inbetween and finally when he was too injured to work on board he became a store man.
So in a way he did build ships.
I remember going to a launch, it was fantastic, every worker had family or friends there. Such an atmosphere I've never seen before or since, there were thousands of people touring round the shipyard being shown where the work was done, going into the painthall (which is now a film studio), seeing into the boardroom where the Titanic plans were drawn.
I think I was about 10 but I thought it was fantastic, so many people calling my dad's nicknames and coming over to shake his hand, being told you were getting to see parts of the yard that few got to see. I was buzzing for weeks afterwards.SPC #329 £471/£500 banked
SPC 2014 £1100:D

On the subject of paint - has anyone had any success on here with the white dulux woodwork paint turning yellow business?
Me and OH painted all upstairs, stairs, landing and hallway in Feb 2011. By end of sept I noticed it was getting discoloured - hubby said its due to EU regs - so let it go - but then it has got really bad. It was only last year I discovered that there was a particular problem with dulux but was too ill to do anything then. Some peeps mentioned might be possible.
So just remembering to call but if anyone else done it would be useful to know. We would find it hard to repaint ourselves at present (husband had prolapsed disc 2011/12 and still bad) and I still haven't got the stamina for that - so don't know if we could claim for decorator costs as well in addition to paint costs.
There was a problem with a new formulation and people have been able to claim compensation. That's about as much as I know as it came about after I retired from the industry and haven't taken much notice. I know why it happens but it would be too much info at this time of night:rotfl::rotfl:Awaiting a new sig0 -
Whilst that article is correct about Titanium Dioxide being the universal man made white pigment for food, paint, paper etc these days it unfortunately gives a completely misinformed impression about it's possible effects on health.
Journalists however never seem to let facts and the bigger picture get in the way of some scaremongering:eek:.
As an expert in the field, but with no axe to grind or anyone to defend, I would take a different view. As a food additive it is E171 and used to mask or enhance the awful natural colour of some processed foods.
It is true that after being in use for over 80 years it is being looked at, along with many other man made and natural substances as a possible carcinogen. That's as much as the article, for whatever motive, chooses to reveal. The property giving a possible link to being a carcinogen is the fact that it is a fine dust when
being processed and handled in bulk and breathing in the dust is the problem, causing irritation to the respiritory tract, and not ingesting it in food. As a chemical it is extremely durable, inert and the body cannot absorb it.....on a lighter note have you ever wondered why some dog poo is white?;)
Now the dog poo I can answer. Years ago dogs were only fed left overs and a bone from the butchers. This diet kead to their poo going white in a matter of days. Dogs are now fed a very different diet so poo is now brown.
When we were kids neally all dog poo seen was white, never see it anymore.
There was an article I read about when we were young and this was one of the random facts.

Dont know avout paying for a decorator, but I called them up for a fault on my cupinal (sp) woodstain. I paid a fourtune for what looked to me like the best stuff for my greenhouse, and a year later some of it is coming off. Called them, and got sent a voucher for 5 new tins (£150 value!) Stupid me picked up the cheaper tims in B&Q instead of the never developed ones which were £4 more a time, lost out on £20 there!!! (if that makes sense)
INfact, I think we need a new abbreviation on the first page of ITMS, as I use it quiet a lot when I have been out (If That Makes Sense).“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Didnt do WH, as already did those in MB. If you go to sign in as a new member it sometimes gives you your waging requirements where it mentions the bonus, why, you winning again you swine???“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Its because dogs were given bones, and they are high in calcium. Calcium makes the poos white (I believe)“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
