    Oh Westie,

Isn't it soooooo cold. We have an easterly wind blowing a hoolie at the moment. My washing froze on the line earlier:eek:
Goodness knows what the energy bills will be like for this quarter:eek:

It's soo annoying. Ive been back to using the tumble dryer this weekend and the heatings been on non-stop. I always look forward to not having to use either. I too am dreading my gas and electric bills this time

I'm fine and OH too but when DD and DS are home we always feel we need to keep the house cosy. Their student homes are not so comfortable and its nice for them to be warm when they are home

So you have a wood burner and just burn wood?
are these off cuts from some sort of timber mill?
and how much is 5 tonne of wood and how do you store it?

We used to have a solid fuel Rayburn in the kitchen and that would just burn wood for fun. But my Dad had an accident with the chainsaw and nearly sliced his foot off. So we had an oil one installed and that does heating and hot water. The lounge has a little stove but there is no radiator in there and it's quite a big room so takes a while to heat up.

Wood is split logs and is stored in the shed opposite - space is not a problem :D

Softwood costs about £70/tonne and hardwood £90/tonne it is well seasoned and burns well. Wouldn't touch telegraph poles though as they contain a lot of tar.
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

I wish I'd not raised my profile in this store now and just gone down the route of emailing HQCS instead
Ta again for the Radox list. I can't add anything to the sum of knowledge as I just copied your earlier shopping list :)
I would quite like to do a rinse and repeat, 2 +1 pop and 2 Radox with the bats. Plus the few things you actually need to get as fillers - nice and simple and you end up spending less than a tenner so it does not feel too risky and you can use up the small value APGS. I don't suppose these little glitches will last many more days though.
I've just done my rec from yesterday on Q - I had 3 fantas on it so that's another £1.05.

QUOTE=Evangeline1971;60190799]Good idea, I've now added barcodes to the Radox I bought (I don't know the others) Also I've copied Savvys siggy idea and put my list details in my siggy, thanks Savvy :T (hopefully this will help prevent the repeated questions to which answers can be found by searching the thread, at least on the days I post :D )

Just written an email to HO. I definately want more than £2 compensation though :)

Sorry I cannot see them 2 for £2  maybe this offer is just about to end as some of the multibuys have disappeared at the time of writing this[/QUOTE]

my kindle that I gave myself for Christmas has been playing up for the last week . kept telling me it needed rebooting and restoring to factory settings . on one occasion it would only display Japanese . so after several reboots several restores I gave up today and returned to argos . was very pleasantly surprised with an immediate exchange given .

DSS 1 hopefully being discharged from hospital in the morning . he's feeling much better and having a great time Being waited on by all the nurses

Yes it was very spitty with all of the tar so we were very careful using it - youngest son was not allowed to use it when we were away, just coal.

...And, not for the first time, now my introduction after I've just crashed in on a reply...

Good afternoon. Imagine a rewind to about 5 hours ago, as that's the time I would have posted the following on here if I had had the time instead of preparing my own this afternoon's shopping lists.

    12:25pm:
Afternoon. Not a very good night's (or this morning's) sleep. I feel worse now that if I had stayed up all night (oh... I actually did stay up all night!):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

I went to sleep fairly quickly, but woke after about four hours and then rather broken sleep - I think it's because I'm trying to get out in time to shop before the 4pm Sunday closing and, because I have a deadline in my head of needing to get up before about 1pm, in order to visit where I need to, I've awoken sooner to see if it already is that time.

5.30pm: You'll be pleased to hear I am wide awake and not bleary eyed, managed to get most part of an hour's shut-eye (I think that can really help sometimes, even if you don't actually sleep) - so feeling as good (or better) than I was at 6 this morning - as opposed to being more alert at 3am (and 6am) than I was when I woke, for the sixth or seventh time, at half 12 this afternoon.

I've done my Fanta, Radox & Batiste shop - but results due around 20 past six. I've looked at the receipt and first thought I hadn't got the right Batiste as the bar code ends 2753, not 7535, but I now see mhoc's post that the last digit isn't on the receipt, so I've got the right one!:T

Regarding the 2L pops, I checked the Sprites and Barrs as well as the Fantas and couldn't find any with the ending required (although the last digit thing again - they'll have been an extra digit that I wasn't looking at:() - I picked up a variety of Fanta that I couldn't recall seeing on MSM (but maybe I was looking at the Sains. side too much and it'd pick up the A multibuy but return N/A vs S:o:(). It seems now clear from here it's the Sprite Zero, so I suspect my three different Fantas will all interact and give the multibuy (not wanted!), we shall see. They're all on MSM (although one of them, the Mango & Passionfruit, only when logged in, but I think we know that one doesn't work). They're all 99p in Sains. - I didn't get the one that Sains doesn't have.

At least the good thing is that, even if it doesn't work, it's still not too bad a price - the two multibuys (the toiletries and the soft drinks 3 for £3) came off instore, even though my A didn't have any multibuy SELs on the Fantas or the Radoxes - seemed they had everything higher priced on the SEL than it actually was - but still cheaper elsewhere! I'll be back again with the results and we'll see if there is another mix& match option open - although there probably isn't. I won't be removing my fillers from the comparison result - sometimes if they are left in, they can provide some good information.

Uh-oh... a LONG post again! Sorry folks:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:... and continues for another half hour....:D;)

I'm sure you don't need to be told to make sure you get your chimney swept . we had a chimney fire a few years ago and learned our lesson . not a pleasant experience .

I understood that they normally just excluded the kitchen tap from the water softener, so the kitchen tap was untreated water, or you could have the kitchen tap with softened water and then a separate tap that wasn't through the softener.

The more expensive option is to have all water softened and then have a reverse osmosis filter to clean the sodium (and other stuff) out of the softened water, and feed that to a separate tap.

You shouldn't drink water filtered by reverse osmosis. Because it is 'pure' it draws essential minerals out of your body, which is then flushed out when you pee. Drinking large quantities can be extremely harmful.
