So you have a wood burner and just burn wood?
are these off cuts from some sort of timber mill?
and how much is 5 tonne of wood and how do you store it?

At the end of last year the chap down the road came to us and he said he had had wood delivered but it was too much and would we like it? it seemed to be telegraph poles that had been cut down. Fortunatley we had youngest son with us that afternoon and he went up and down the road to this chaps house collecting the wood and it was piled up everywhere in the garden.
we are now coming to the end of this wood. We also go through about 3 buckets of coal a day and that's £136 for 20 bags
Well at least the house is warm apart from an icy kitchen, the cats are not miserable and the washing gets dried.

But I think a lot of people's finances are so strained now that this winter will push them into debt- they say its going to cost another £1 a day in fuel bills.

I've just had my review from EDF (Blue april 2014) and they need to put up my DD from £138/mth to £188 for the coming years gas and electricity:eek: Must admit I have had the heating on a lot more in the last few months with being at home all day. Think I need to spend more time in Mr T keeping warm:rotfl:

    Evening everyone,

    Sorry nothing to report.
Had more pressing matters, weather been bad here, but know it's not as bad as some areas.
Hope everyone has been managing with the weather.
    Off to catch up:)

In future I will amend this list as necessary whenever I can and reference in my signature. Please can anyone PM me if you spot any errors, thanks :)

Many thanks. I'll print this off and try and check the ones that are still on later in the week in Morries. Same goes for me - if you spot the one item:rotfl:that I've missed off my Avs M list, do let me know! (I know A have, since my list, gone down in price on the Smartprice Food Bags now - will have to move them to Avs W now!) Inevitably, those numerous Dr Oetkers in M I wasn't able to look at in detail last time (and probably not this time either unfortunately) - I've added one that you've told me about on this forum, albeit the list has now passed its date again.

I knew the Irn Bru was not in the 3 for 3 pound deal with Dr Pepper but went to CS lady and told her that I thought it was.
She refunded me 2.74 and replaced the Irn Bru with another Dr Pepper.
    So actual spend 8.81 - 2.74 refund - 5.01 APG = 1.06

It's soo annoying. Ive been back to using the tumble dryer this weekend and the heatings been on non-stop. I always look forward to not having to use either. I too am dreading my gas and electric bills this time
I know what that feels like. I've gone to sign up to the cheap energy club section on the main site and now seriously thinking about switching to a new company to get my bills down. I'd recommend anyone to have a look at it if they haven't already.:)

You shouldn't drink water filtered by reverse osmosis. Because it is 'pure' it draws essential minerals out of your body, which is then flushed out when you pee. Drinking large quantities can be extremely harmful.

    It gets madder.

We get a water softener, so we can't drink water that has been softened. But we do want the kitchen tap water to be free of limescale so we get a filter r/o that filters the softened water to remove the excess sodium. Then we find that trace minerals are also removed from the water, so I take a multi-mineral supplement every day.

I haven't heard that the pure water also draws out minerals in your body, only that it doesn't contain essential trace minerals. I would have thought it would have been banned as your drinking water tap if it really was capable of drawing out stuff in your body.
