I'm don't think this will work Avs M as the sizes are different - despite T comparing to both A & M. I missed a second pack of the Large Oranges at Aldi for 69p. (Got one earlier in the week, but everyone's been having them.) Super6 now include Broccoli, Parsnips, onions, 1kg Carrots and some small bag of potatoes that are still well over 60p/kg (above my guide price of around 45p/kg). All at 49p. I'll go and check regarding the 5pk (6pk?) oranges.

So you have a wood burner and just burn wood?
are these off cuts from some sort of timber mill?
and how much is 5 tonne of wood and how do you store it?

At the end of last year the chap down the road came to us and he said he had had wood delivered but it was too much and would we like it? it seemed to be telegraph poles that had been cut down. Fortunatley we had youngest son with us that afternoon and he went up and down the road to this chaps house collecting the wood and it was piled up everywhere in the garden.
we are now coming to the end of this wood. We also go through about 3 buckets of coal a day and that's £136 for 20 bags
Well at least the house is warm apart from an icy kitchen, the cats are not miserable and the washing gets dried.

But I think a lot of people's finances are so strained now that this winter will push them into debt- they say its going to cost another £1 a day in fuel bills.

It'll be alright plenty of oil in the tank. The fire is not usually on much this time of the year but not this year.
