The usual juicers, mini choppers etc. and kiddies games consoles (thankfully, hand-me-downs)
But, love:
iPad
Hand blender
Gtech sweeper (use all the time!)
Electric toothbrush
Just wish the kids weren't always after the iPad. I get relegated to reading MSE on my phone :mad:Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Philips Lumea hair removal gadget, doesn't work. Wasted £400 on this last year.
Clarisonic facial cleaner, cost £108 (and that was on offer).
Worked out my dermolgica facial brush cleaner which cost over £100 less does the same job and the bristles are much more softer on the skin too.
Bliss facial pore cleaner which cost over £100 May as well go to the Body Shop and buy a facial scraper for a lot lot less cash which does the same job!0 -
That pasta maker I wanted for years is residing in the back of a cupboard somewhere having been used once. I had such plans.0

As for the best gadget.
It has to be a clockwork torch. I have several and keep one in the car.
Hands up all those people who keep a torch in the car and the one time you need to use it the batteries are flat? A wind up torch puts an end to that.
I also keep one of those headtorches (on a band) in the car along with one of those extendable wrenches. I'm fully aware they look a bit weird and my ex laughed at it...until he had a flat tire outside my house and I produced both of them. Makes changing a tire in the dark a darn sight easier.0 -
A juicer - was taken in by the price drop tv hype, paid £100 for it.
Was so excited when it arrived, I drove straight up to the supermarket and bought a pineapple at £2 and bag of apples.
Returned home, chopped up the pineapple, juiced it and ended up with about 30 mls of pineapple water.
It was utterly hopeless.
I then tried the apples and what little juice did come out was all brown and oxidised.
It was allowed to live in the cupboard for a while but was subsequently skipped.0 -

But the biggest error I made was in buying a Netbook - I thought it would be a handy carry-about with a bit of storage, but actually the small screen and low-powered CPU means it's just been sat in its pouch in a corner of the room for 2-3 years.0 -
And with breadmakers I think it depends on the brand as I had one that was brilliant and wore out(!) replaced it with a cheaper model and never bothered after the first time. It helped losing weight though!!
I also have a steam generator iron :T:T:T
Hopeless gadgets -
Battery manicure set
Nintendo wii - don't ask
Pressurised Coffee machine - got 3rd degree burns
Sewing Machine - still brand new in box
Rotating hair styler - burnt my hair0 -

Gosh you must be heavy handed or very unlucky
I got my Kindle for my birthday in 2009. It has over a thousand books on it, I use it almost every day and it's still as good as new.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Handheld steam cleaner
Battery operated vibrating brush (came free with a vibrating foot pad)
Vibrating foot pad!
Electric mop/floor cleaner thingy
Love
Ipad
Steam generator iron (couldn't do without it as I can iron a short sleeved shirt in 22 seconds!). Yes I'm sad and timed it!
Looking to get an electric can opener and this thread has convinced me0 -

Funny how these things work for different people.
I bought an Acer Aspire One just after they came out, it had Linux as the OS and a 120Gb HDD and cost me £199, they had them on offer in Tesco.
It became the most used PC in the household, despite being Linux, and I rarely got to use it! My daughter thought it was 'cute' and grabbed it at every opportunity, my wife also liked the size and used it for on-line shopping and email rather than going upstairs to use her own PC.
After two weeks of not being able to lay a hand on it I gave in and went and bought another for myself. By then the offer had ended and I had to pay £50 more.
Both are still in daily use.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0
