Easyjet flight price increase
Comments
-
I've just booked 2 returns to Tenerife in July
Last year I winced at £400, the same flights this year are £500+0 -
We are having a staycation this year because flight prices have gone up so much. I normally try and book as soon as easyjet flights are release at end of September. Last year we flew to Malaga for £750 ish for 5 of us return in July. This year it has jumped to £1100 .... actually more now - I was sitting with credit card on release day and couldnt believe the increase.0

Thanks for all the replies, to answer some of the questions, i was looking at both Southend or Stansted airports and the kids are 8 and 14.
Whats affecting my flights is the return journey at the end of the school holidays and at a bank holiday weekend.
After looking on another forum i may have found a work around (although a risky one) that may help others in a simular position. Easyjet now offer a FLEXI fare which allows flight changes 1 week before and 3 weeks after the original planned date. This includes luggage, speedy boarding, reserved seats although it does cost more.
Other people have reported significant savings by booking a FLEXI flight a couple of weeks later, then immediately logging back in to easy jet and moving the flight date back.
Obviously risky and also the FLEXI fares dont become available until 120 days before the depature dates. So for my flights i cant view the FLEXI fares until May. Im quietly confident that 2 weeks after the schools return the FLEXI fares will be much cheaper than the current prices around the bank holiday weekend.0 -
Would that theory work for the end of May half term holiday?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

The savings look to be substantial.
It costs £244 to fly from Gatwick to Las Palmas single on Saturday 25 May.
But if you book a Flex ticket for the following Saturday the fare is £123.
Presumably, once the Flex ticket has been purchased it is easy to change your flight to 25 May.
Is there any way this wouldn't work?0 -

wow this seems to good to be true ! ...... anyone tried this and been successful ?0 -
This looks really interesting. Does the trip length have to be the same?
Am I correct in thinking that the 1 week before and 3 weeks after apply to the departure date. This is what gives you the fixed 4 week window?
For example there are flights
LIV - FARO 14th May (£81) - 16th May(£79) both flexible.
Could you change the dates to cover any length holiday as long as you remain in the 4 week window of 7th May - 4th June?£100 - £10,0000 -
I found this from viewing another forum where other people have said they have saved a few pounds. I can not personally guarantee it would work but cant see any reason why not, and i will be giving it a try later.
Sssshh dont tell anyone, they may stop the FLEXI offer lol :silenced:0 -

Look at the T&Cs:
http://www.easyjet.com/en/terms-and-conditions#a9
The answers to your questions would appear to be:
a No
b easyjet do NOT sell return flights, they sell single flights each way, as such there is presumably a four week window around both the outbound and the inbound flight.
c See a and b!!0
