Everyone knows someone who's scraped a wing mirror, opened their car door onto someone elses car paintwork etc. All it takes is that one moment of lack of concetration and it happens.. followed by a quick retreat. I've known plenty of people do it yet they will all say the same thing - "I didn't do it".
What I tend to do is hold the bag (of any sort) out in front of me, rather than using the shoulder straps, if I'm needing to squeeze in between two cars like that. I guess it's possible my bum has hit someone's car at some point but I'm as certain as anyone reasonably can be that my bags never have.
Then again I also tend to park at the back of the car park to try and keep the damage off my car, unless it's the company Mondeo.TrickyWicky wrote: »It does and I've done it. I did some supermarket carpark marshalling a while back and thats exactly what my job was. Keeping the store front clear and stopping people without disabled badges using the bays. I had one young fat trollop of a woman pull up in a red sports car once determined that her shopping was more important than any disability.. she got the hump when I told her she could move the car or be rejected by the store security. She chose to ignore me before getting half way to the store and being ordered once more to move her car by the security team who approached her from the store entrance who's attention I had got with a simple wave and point.
Well I'm glad to hear it does sometimes happen! :T
Out of interest what would you have done if she'd claimed to have ME or arthritis or some other condition that limits your walking distance?
It's not a problem for us any more as my GF finally ended up in a wheelchair after acquiring a permanent injury to her foot to add to her existing list of disabilities, but you still get people who come up to her to give her crap for parking her 200SX in an accessible spot, but then they suddenly melt into the floor when she drops her wheelchair out of the driver's door.
Prior to that I'd usually just drop her off at the door and then go park if she was having a bad day where longer distance walking wasn't an option, but in theory she'd be eligible to use that space despite no BB and nothing visibly wrong.0
