Hi,
I'm a family of 4, two children age 2 and 10 months. A few months ago I was happily doing my weekly shop for £50 but now it is £70+ so I defiently agree. And I too am struggling to keep it down.
I shop online at tesco therefore I can see what I'm spending and don't buy things just for the sake of it. I.e a "good" offer.
Nappies and formula are extortionate prices, that's at least £15 alone. My only tip is to cook for you new baby from scratch, no jars. I just put our left overs in small Tupperware and freeze them. So much cheaper and we've always got a meal there for her especially when we're eating something unsuitable like takeaway
