Food Shopping Has Gone Up Again!!!!
Comments
-
Hi there. Family of 6 here and our weekly shop (toiletries, cleaning products food etc) comes in at under £80.00 per week. We shop at Aldi for pretty much everything. This covers all meals, packed lunches for children. We don't go without.0

But you didn't answer the question. Has your shopping gone up £20 or did you have an exact basket like for like without offers?Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -

Hey thanks a nice reply...
I may try Aldi, do you find it good quality in terms of the price?
I read that people who shop at Aldi dont see much difference to the big 4 supermarketsIVA Approved first payment 16th Feb 2013, 60 months from now DF.0 -

my original post below in quotes
" This is just ridiculus
I swear the cost of shopping is rising monthly if not weekly..
A weekly big shop from sainsburys has just cost us £150
last week it was £130, ok we had a birthday cake in there but all the rest just normal food no extravegance...
we are a family of 5, soon to be 6 as expecting a baby
I have not even thought about how much extra the baby will cost a week....
rent has gone up, fuel bills, utility bills everything seems to be rising insanely high..
anyone else feeling it??
Marcus "
Just because you have 5000 odd posts who are you to call me a defeatest??????? you dont know me and realise how hard it is already to juggle everything around my children...
I didnt ask eveyone to jump all over this thread giving me unrealistic advice...as most of the advice has come from couples...
I was simply venting how much shopping costs
Nothing to do with post count, I really don't know where you are coming from with that
The porridge diet and no treat comment was what I was calling a defeatist attitude. Already someone with your size family has said they spend nearly half what you do and don't do without
Yes times are bloody hard, for all of us, which is why we come here. But we can't sit around and blame the government cos that's not going to feed the baby. You have to be proactive and learn to manage what you do have to the very best of your ability and if you can't, then accept the help and advice on offer
Yes I'm also pretty angry with the price hikes, my husband is out of work more then in work the past three years. We live in a very rural area, oil costs have doubled in five years to the point I can't heat the house as we would like and use coal to keep the living rooms warm enough We have to have a car and that costs us 40 a week in diesel alone and I earn just 15 hours a week on minimum wage
But I certainly don't live on porridge nor do we not have treats. We don't live on credit we live within our means
I can't see anyone attacking you. What I can see are people in the same boat offering advice on how to manage0 -
We're a family of 3, 2 adults 1 child and spend about £40-£50 a week including toiletries and cleaning products. I have noticed certain products rising a lot in price and sometimes have to find an alternative. I dont think people are attacking you, just trying to help as you are obviously worried about the rising cost of food (like a lot of people) and with their advice you could get your bill down. Good luck, its easy when you get into the swing of it.'They only had one cow!'0

No you are not being attacked but you did post saying "Food Shopping Has Gone Up Again!!!! This is just ridiculous" and any one that has offered advise has done so to try and help you reduce bills was doing so with the best intentions. This was posted in a Bankruptcy & Living With It/IVA & DRO thread so people are trying to be helpful!Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
