As for figures, seem to remember you wanted 440,000 disabled people protected based on other published figures. Now if just this group of 100,000 with specially adapted houses based on published figures were proteced , you probably wouldn't oppose it. .
Maybe in another couple of weeks you'll have revised this down to 50,000 due to other published figures, only to realise this 50,000 are already covered by the exemptions. You never can tell with statistics.
No you are wrong I want the TAX scrapped TOTALLY.

Therefore I was correct in my assumption that as you are so anti benefit cuts, you have relied on long term welfare payments. Not that there is anything wrong in that if you needed them.mysterywoman10 wrote: »so I suggest you go back further on my posts
I didn't go back on your posts at all. I merely asked "If I look back on your posts will I see that you/your family, have relied on benefits a lot in the past?" You're the one who has now confirmed you did.mysterywoman10 wrote: »So I don't think your claims of overly generous benefits apply in my personal circumstances not that it is any of your business.
May I remind you that it was you who made it my business by claiming that my assumptions were wrong, when clearly; by your own admission now; they weren't.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

You used the word "relied" I was responding by pointing out that I have never received any means tested benefits like income support etc.
I should have made it clearer we cannot all be perfect in our expressions in writing. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0 -
I have been asked to pay £115 for the year, a small amount compared to some on here it seems but nevertheless it is still a bill I didn't have last year.
I asked this question, "as I am on ESA in the Support Group the government give me the minimum amount they say I can live on. How do they now expect me to pay £12 per month, where is it to come from?" She declined to answer but said i wasn't the only one that had phoned today, that I CAN believe.
While I can find the money it will still be a struggle, I am not a shirker or a dole scrounger I am disabled and terminally ill. Although it doesn't matter anymore, this government has vilified all disabled people and made them the brunt end of all financial problems the UK has to face. We didn't chose to be disabled, personally I would rather work and pay my way rather than die slowly from the cancer i have. But I suppose it is their way of getting that little bit extra from me before I die.

Really sorry to hear of your added stress in all of the Ukscanking. As if you haven't got enough to contend with

Are we talking about the Council Tax Support when you refer to the amount above?
I think someone confirmed the other day that if you are on HRC DLA you should be exempt. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0 -

Rely = To be dependent for support, help, or supply.
It doesn't have to be income based benefits, for someone to rely on those benefits. Many benefits aren't income based.
Isn't the carers allowance you claimed "income based"? From reading this thread, it seems that those who work and care for someone, can't get carers allowance.RENTING? I did not work because I wanted to bring up my children and my husband supported me.
I really do not know why you are persisting with personalising the argument because you do not agree with my views on the Bedroom Tax what you hope to achieve by it?
Regardless of my own circumstances I do not support it I think it is an evil and vile tax/cut against the poorest in our Society. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0 -

Hi mysterywoman10
They call it the CTR here (Reduction),
I have just called the council which is Fylde in Lancashire www.fylde.gov.uk is their site. They have said to me 5 mins ago that the only people who do not have to pay are the ones who are of a pensionable age, all others including those who are on the higher rate of DLA HAVE to pay, there are NO exemptions from this.
They do have a scheme to help the most vulnerable they said which I can apply for but I must prove what I pay OUT each month. They are aware of what I have coming in obviously so they want to know what I have to pay out so they can look at the difference I suppose and work out if I can afford it, Not that all months are the same as March for us is bad with MOT, Car Insurance etc all wanting to be paid in March.
You're right about the stress, I could certainly do without it. I never thought my final months would be spent on the phone to the council asking about why they are charging me. I am trying to sort it for my wife before I die. I don't want to leave her with the stress of it all.
Thanks a million x0 -

I receive higher rate DLA and I'm exempt from the council tax charge but, from my understanding, not all councils are using that criteria when looking at who they will exempt so it really depends on what his council's eligibility will be.There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. I'll try and find where I read it a couple of days ago. ukscanking
It was stated the the same exemptions still applied as they did before i.e. someone who had a severe mental impairment and were on DLA HRC.
What it means is you are discounted from the property so it would depend on who else is living there etc. is my understanding. The most wasted day is one in which we have not laughed.0
