Archos 80 cobalt. 8inch
Ok so I got one cheap in the sale for my wife but I can honestly say it works very well and feels well made.
Its a huge improvement on the Archos 101 G8 internet tablet that I have.

They reduced the price from £114 not long ago.
Got this case for it that is a good fit and with slight modification allows both cameras to be used.

Sharpen the end on a bit of metal tube and punch a hole out is how I did it.0 -

usually the problem with the cheaper/unbranded ones is that they are never out on display - you could always order one and return it on dsr? but that's a bit of a faff! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Fair point - it's less of a cludge than with a phone I suppose. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

I tried various tablets out before I bought my Nexus 7 - the cheaper ones did feel significantly cheaper
erm that will be because they are... significantly cheaper!
It doesn't matter if the (lovely!) Nexus is made of Martian Gold and can communicate with God directly.. Op has £100 to spend.
All I am saying is that in MSE terms there is always something a bit better for a bit more, the op has set themselves a realistic budget and wants to spend it wisely.0 -
Depends on whether expandable storage is a factor for the OP or not. The Nexus 7 is a non-starter for me as I cannot see the point of a multimedia device with fixed limited storage.
My thought also but just bought a 2TB NAS that would overcome that problem for many .
Me its the Note 10.1 + the NAS plus all my SD cards .

I've had a 16Gb Nexus 7 for 8 months but really could have managed with an 8GB.
Local storage is a non-issue for me as I don't store music on the device, delete a film after I've watched it etc.
Why would anyone want or need a microSD slot on a tablet in 2013?I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
