Contesting a Will

Life is unfair, and as human beings we have a real tendency to see the errors others make and not our own. Yes, in an ideal world all grandchildren would be treated equally, the flip side of that is that in an ideal world all grandchildren would have a real relationship with a grandparent. You don't generally expect one without the other. So OP if there is anyone to blame in this it is the adults involved in not ensuring your children had a relationship with the grandparents. The buck stops with you and your late husband on this I am afraid. You do reap what you sow.0

I really hope you have.
My dad died 3 years ago - his children (me and siblings) didnt have anything to do with him day to day (or year to year) but his step daughter who lived with him, and had for 20 years inherited everything. None of us contested it as we hadn't been there for him, she was far more entitled to it than any of us.

haveiacase, if you died tomorrow would you want your children's cousins to take 2/5ths of your estate, even though you clearly don't give a single solitary !!!! about them and they haven't had a relationship with you over the years?
How would you feel if your children's cousins turned up at your funeral, started taking photographs of your will and then harassed your children via e-mail accusing them of tricking you into signing away your estate to them because you would obviously have given your children's cousins money because that's what your ex would have wanted!
I would hope if there is an after life and they did that you'd be sitting in a meeting with god signing their one way ticket to hell, although maybe that's what your mother in law is doing right now for you. I bet she's giving you an aisle seat near the toilet.
You're accusing people of tricking their dying mother-figure into signing over her property that she intended to give to people that could only be considered relatives in a family tree and probably had less of a relationship with her than the milk man.0 -
I heard through the grapevine that the grant has been obtained now , i wonder if now is the time to make a case somehow...0

Have you been to a solicitor for their advice yet?0

Don't just 'wonder' on here.
If you are determined to take this as far as you can - despite all the comments against your actions - see a bloody solicitor!troubleinparadise wrote: »Have you been to a solicitor for their advice yet?0 -
this is a person who is a troll.
no way would a real person act like this.
my wifes family fought over her grans will for years. result massive bills. loss of a huge chunk of the estate due to stock market changes and them never talking to each other again. 2 are now dead and 2 sick.
if your for real which i really doubt then just let it pass. your kids will not win and even if they did they would be the losers in the end.0 -
Your husband left provision for your girls. Perhaps your mother in law felt that was enough and her money deserved to go to the two kids whom she had raised.
Not much shocks me these days but this really has. How could you be so cruel to cause more pain to two people who have lost their mother and now the woman who raised them and no doubt comforted them, cared for them and loved them through the remaining years.
People like you really do make me sick.:A
