OP should get real and change her user name to 'ihavenocase'. Or 'avaricious madam' .Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -

You can go to a solicitor today to discuss whether in law your children have a case to make.
Do you know that prior to the latest will your MIL had a will that mentioned your children? If so, then perhaps a new or changed will that came when a person was in decline and cut out previously mentioned people might have some standing. So far you have not mentioned anything to do with that particular situation.
So this is now coming down to a situation where you want to cause them financial pain as a method of retribution?
So, those two cases give the OP hope. If I were one of her children, I hope I'd be able to talk sense into her, because if I'd had any expectations of an inheritance from the OP before this, I'd realise I could wave it goodbye if she insisted on pursuing this, or insisted on bankrolling me / us to pursue this.
OP, have you shown this thread to your children? Maybe the quiet one can see sense ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

It's difficult to understand the thinking of people prepared to fight someone to the grave and beyond......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I hope you're making this up.
If you're for real I reckon your mother in law, having known you for good few years, knew exactly what she was doing, especially if your 'girls' are anything like you appear to be."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

Just when I thought the OP couldn't get any nastier........0 -

This is the most vindictive thing I read in a long time.
So, what you now want is for these children who have already lost their mother and have now lost their mother-figure to lose some money left to them by someone who loved them and who they loved and cared for.
All so that your children who seem to have had limited love for her and spent no time caring for her can cheat them out of some money they have, apparently, been left legally and properly.
Karma will catch up with you.0 -
OP, you really are a nasty avaricious piece of work! You're entitled to nothing, but even so, you will embroil your children into something they may have no desire to participate in - could a mother stoop any lower?0

What a truly despicable person you sound!
This must get the vote as the most appalling thread ever started on MSE.There is at least one recent case where a family spent a sum equivalent to the whole inheritance on legal fees. The down side on this was that the costs of all three parties was awarded against the person in your position.
Only go forward with this if you can afford to pay your niece and nephew's legal costs.
Apart from which you cannot act on this as you are not related to the deceased and therefore cannot inherit from her.
If the OP is prepared to steam-roller over people going through genuine grief for her own genuine greed, I really do hope that the added hurt she will cause if she succeeds in halting probate costs her a massive amount of money.
I also hope that her children have inherited a larger proportion of sense of fairness from their father and haven't got much of her genes.
I think that if I was a 26, 28 or 32 year old person whose Gran (that I'd seen only 'maybe' once a year - which we all know means less frequently than that) had died and my Mum was creating such fuss, I'd be telling her exactly what posters have been trying to do on here - that it's none of her damn business and to back off.0 -

What bit are you not getting? YOU HAVE NO CASE.0 -
I can, in a sense, see why the OP believes that her children should inherit something but for the life of me I can't see why she won't see sense and realise that the law doesn't work that way and you can leave whatever you like to whoever you like.2014 Target;
