I just hope no one is suggesting that Hitler being given a forum to spread hate is a good thing, does anyone remember the result of that...
I think that most on here are suggesting that it's best to counter these groups in public rather than making a decision to suppress them, forcing them underground where they can prey on the "less perceptive".
    Happy chappy

I suggest you take a look at the BNP Wikipedia for some indepth knowledge, or maybe not if you have a weak stomach like me.

    .

Do you know how messed up wikipedia is? anyone can write anything..... hardly a good topic winner is it? i think all politica partys sould be allowed to speak and the bnp is one and do have seats in a few place's already.

Student's can choose if they listen or not, your not all dumb @ss's are you?
If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.
  • Come on, have you met recent graduates? They need to be told what to think nowadays.

Now, I love wikipedia, it's great. Its a very free arena. If an entry contains something you disagree with, then you are free to alter it. If someone alters something you said, you are free to revert back the version and remove their edit. The hope is that there are more positive contributors than vandals. It also helps to make quite a neutral tone to pages.

Wikipedia is fantastic. I wouldn't use it to prove a point though. Especially on such an emotive subject as the BNP.
  • I do like Wikipedia, and one of its strengths (which can also be a weakness) is that anyone can edit it. This results in plenty of opportunity for both sides of the story to be told, but also allows the spread of misinformation on occasion. Any political party should have someone specifically responsible for updating Wikipedia and correcting any errors or malicious misinformation.
The following is an extract from the Wikipedia entry for my son's school:
Also, in 1835 (yeah hes that old) William McGair, History teacher at the Academy, was awarded the Scottish Daily Record Gold Award for Inspirational sex Teacher.
This datum is obviously a spoof perpetrated by a student, and will no doubt be removed, but if the pupils had decided to type something a bit more plausible, who knows how long it might go uncorrected?

It should surely not be so difficult to work out - even for a student - that a small country like this just cannot continue to absorb unlimited numbers of immigrants from all over the world?

Even for a student?! Perhaps the way this comment has been overlooked on this 'student board' indicates the true extent the freedom of speech us students actually allow others. ;)
